Description
In a world where rare metals drive the economy, "Minea", the people who seek out these metals at the risk of their own life, are highly respected. A strange boy called Ruka has wandered destructively into the failing town of Elza, declaring that his goal is to be a Minea! He ends up under the surveillance of a village girl, Shella, whose little brother is sick from a poison gas accident in the town's now-closed mine. But there may be more to this situation than meets the eye! Will Ruka be able to help his new friends, and maybe one day become a legendary Minea?

Friggin rushed endings

This series was apparently cancelled or something (I don't know exactly what), and they borked the ending every way from sunday. Right in the middle of the final test they do a time jump, then they do a bit of very rushed story, then they end it without actually concluding a single thing. When an author is forced to end a series prematurely, they're supposed to EITHER do a rushed ending, OR leave things hanging, not both at the same time.

Not interesting

I read the first 3 chapters before I realised it's extremely boring... The novelty of using/finding rare metals faded away after the first chapter. I had some hopes when the guys used his special ability but it's really not that impressive imho. I've been reading WSJ for a long while and this is just a pale copy of something that could have been so much better if not for the staple shounen stuff. Like many other people before me, I think this manga isn't going to last long, and if it does, I'll gladly read it. But until it gets to that point, I just won't bother.

3/10, if only for the metal concept and average/good art.

It has the typical naive, idiotic, but strong lead, who is on a quest to become the strongest. It is VERY similar to other manga's like One Piece, Hunter X Hunter, Fairy Tale, etc. Matalica Metaluca is a shadow in comparison.
If you're bored and got nothing to read, go ahead and try this.
If you're looking for something original, don't read this.

I want to like it, but it's so paint by numbers I find it kinda dull. That doesn't mean it's bad, but I can't honestly say it's amazing either. It's nice read when you finish up the stuff on your high priority list. For now, I'll reserve rating it since the story hasn't really had a chance to pick up. I hope it gets epic soon though.

His manga is really predictable but I still find myself reading it
It kind of reminds me of hunter X hunter right now kid tries to follow his dad and his dad is the hero
The characters remind me of the popular WSJ series
Im giving it an 8 but if it keeps copying from other series it is going to get cancelled

Boring

Sure, the idea of using the rare metals is kinda interesting and all, but that's where the interesting stops. It feels like it's copying off of other shounen manga waaaaay too much. Especially the main characters. The main boy character is just like Luffy! The main girl character is just like Nami! The art isn't special at all. The plot isn't engaging. Just another boy with a rare power on a quest with a typical feisty girl character to become such and such because of something that involved his father in the past. A tired and boring concept that I don't expect to go very far.

This isn't that bad of a manga. If you like One Piece, Rave Master, Fairy Tale, or O-parts then you might find it enjoyable.

If you like out going or energetic characters then yeah read this-yes I do enjoy the out going characters.

Using metals for everydays life is an interesting concept and while writing this I realized that its a much better version of ^^^^ darn what's it called----you know the manga where they use stickers for fire, water, weapons and other stuff...(as you can see I stopped reading that series)...anyways the concepts are similar...since there's only 4 chapters out so far...we must wait and see if really gets better.

can only get better

You can count this as a reply to the review that came before.

One Piece, greatest manga ever IMO, can be considered a copy based on your reasoning. Girl tries to use boy. Boy is an idiot immune to boobs and thighs. Boy doesn't have staff so he makes his limbs longer.

It resembles a lot of manga because this is shounen. Adventure, thugs, girls and dimwitted heroes.

I like it. The artwork and the story will surely improve as time passes. It can only get better. As Gal said it has a great potential and it all depends on the mangaka if this flops or not.

I can't believe why publishers would even consider publishing something like this...
The concept is basically that of Toriko, but with rare metals instead of rare ingredients.

And the first chapter is a 1 to 1 copy of the first chapter of Dragonball:
Naive boy runs into some girl on a treasure hunt.
Girl sees how strong the boy is and tries to recruit him for her journey.
She flaps her skirt and offers him some service.
Boy don't know what she wants, she gets mad.
Boy touches her on some intimate spots without any bad intention.

For my taste, this is too much similarity for one single chapter.

When I first saw it, it didn't look that great at all. When you read the story though, you see there's a little more to it than meets the eye. It's got good potential to it, and the art's a nice touch, too.
