Who takes the time these days to climb a tree in bare feet to rescue a child’s toy? To stop and observe the birds? To play in the puddles after a storm? To go down to the sea to put a shell back? The Walking Man does as he strolls at random through urban Japan – often silent, often alone – with his vivid dreams that let time stand still.

Sometimes I feel like reading something that is just chill and comfy. That's where I come here and search for slice of life manga. Unfortunately a lot of them don't give me that comfiness that I long for.
This manga however hits the spot pretty good. The art is amazing and it just makes you want to go out for a walk at night. I would have preferred if that there would be bit more monologue, to know what the protagonist is thinking.
All in all a nice short read.

Somehow, despite the lack of dialogue, the story made me dislike the main character. He seemed like a self-centered, pretentious, donkey behind. "Look at me being so quirky and enjoying nature! Everyone else is a square! Even my wife, I won't tell her about what private fun I have skinny dipping or gawping at beautiful women!" That being said, an irritating main character should not necessarily stop you from reading it, as is easy to get through and somewhat unique.

It's worth mentioning that there is some nudity in the sixth chapter [Swimming at Night], which technically makes this manga not safe for work. Although this was done very tastefully and just there, I still wouldn't recommend reading this one [or at least not this chapter] if there are easily offendable people about.

I read this a while ago after some hesitation.
Slice of life is now my favourite genre in manga, no incredible action, no pathetic guys followed by dozens of girls, no absolutely perfect characters...and this manga is slice of life.
I often wonder about the small things in life, those things that i used to do and now pay no attention because i have set in the fact that my life is busy.
In reality it's not, and this manga shows that you can still apreciate those moments and relax.
This is very good, something that everyone should read.

If you're interested in action, jokes, witty dialogue.. Forget about this manga.

This manga is the epitome of 'show, don't tell''. Of quiet happiness, of appreciating life. The 'stories' have no plot, few words are spoken, and still, at the end of it you find that you have learned a lot about the walking man, his wife and his dog.

This manga will always be special to me.
