I usually avoid plots involving S&M but thank goodness the seme was not a violent one. Stories are lovely and to my surprise, I find myself enjoying it. Was craving for more on the main couple when it ends.

This is just horrible. While I always do keep my expectations very low when I see SM and yaoi together (for the simple reason that most yaoi just degenerates into manrape and this horrible misrepresentation of SM) I was expecting something better from KIRIYU Kiyoi.
There are moments of brilliance and cracks in the story, contrary to the theme and characterization, which just make me wonder why couldn't this particular route be taken. In fact, if I were to be afflicted with partially-selected amnesia I would say this manga is sweet. So, the only thing this has going for it is the art and those few moments of radiance.

I'm not a fan of mixing BDSM with love. No matter how gentle a person outside is, it doesn't change the fact that that person doesn't respect you in bed. (Btw, yes it's stupid to leave Kanoy half naked for an hour, baka Sawamura)

Ridiculous

I'm so tired of seeing S&M falsely represented and wrongly exploited as a fantasy fetish to get off to for people who have never even been involved in the scene. But since this is BL, I guess asking for realistic portrayals of its topics isn't very wise and reasonable of me. The characters get reverted to sub and dom archetypes with few traits as actual people, and their cookie-cutter moulds aren't even accurate. Imagine reading a story about a topic you're not particular interested in, with characters who can barely hold up on their own, and a plot so dull and ridiculously exaggerated. The worst part is this is the formula for an alarming segment of BL, so at least this manga is nothing new when it comes to bad writing.

A Supportive and Romantic SM Couple!

I don't quite remember what I was expecting when I started this manga, but it was definitely different from what I got. The characters were surprisingly deep, the art was enjoyable, and the relationship ended up becoming something I wasn't expecting in an SM BL story - one of mutual respect and love. There are still parts of the story that could be improved, but I really appreciated the development of both Kanou and Sawamura as characters willing to change and try different things in order to make their relationship work. As a result, they find happiness together and are able to support one another.

Probably the thing that really made me happy was seeing Sawamura's sadistic side stay more and more with their sex life while he became more gentle and supportive in the other aspects of his relationship with Kanou. It's unusual for me to find a character in manga who has a distinctive sadistic side in the bedroom who can also be a very loving partner and treats his lover as an equal in other aspects of their lives. It was refreshing to say the least.

The other couples from the 1st and 2nd volumes didn't stand out as nicely to me. They were okay stories with the same nice art and passionate love scenes, but I probably wouldn't have read them if they weren't coupled with the main story.
