Different from the rest

A long running manhwa for over 10 years.

A shame it's not fully scanlated as the later chapters are amazing and the story progresses at a good pace. The author had to take multiple hiatuses because he's working on this all by himself - story, art, coloring, publishing, etc. Hopefully he gives the ending an amazing conclusion.

I'm guessing no one talks about this manhwa much because of the art and the title.. The title is probably a little too generic for the google algorithm. As for the art, I actually love it though. Chon Jang has a way with creating backgrounds and lighting that mades reading this pretty easy on the eyes. (Unlike some/most manhwa these days that take up 3 entire pages for just one sfx or color gradient..)

Someone please finish scanlating this, or I have to deal with reading my own horribly translated one. lol

Most Underrated Graphic Novel I Can Think Of

I'm not talking about the rating on this page, I'm talking about the treatment it has received across the internet. Fan translations that hang for years, Line Webtoon literally having it in Korean but not translating it despite funding objectively worse stories en masse, no one really talking about it in forums anywhere, etc. And never an explanation as to why.

One must ask then, with a realistic take on what living in a hypothetical fantasy world might actually look like, characters who have their faults realistically nearly bring them down before they manage to come out of it with a plausible solution or action, adventures that never seem to end as well as the characters would have liked, and art that's not awful (better than early Tower of God)... what happened?

I genuinely don't know.

There's a groundedness about the whole story that doesn't just work, it helps you experience the highs and lows as a reader. It's consistent in a way reality, as much as that changes, has a consistency.

It's Game of Thrones with salt instead of soap and background sounds instead of opera.

And maybe that's the rub? I mean, it brings reality to fantasy, instead of the other way around. It thrives, not on melodrama, but on the bite of a bad situation being complicated by people with conflicting objectives.

It's the well written antithesis to high fantasy and also what most people shy away from nowadays when looking to escape reality.

I haven't gone through the whole available chapters yet... so I don't know how the story goes. But the art was just arghhhhh! I tried bearing with the side faces till chapter 10. But I just can't continue reading while it agitates me seeing the side faces that never changed. The art was bad.. rate it 3.

this webtoon is different from any other fantasy story, be it webtoon, manga, novel.
the author thought about aspects of a life in fantasy world that have never been mentioned.

Great so far (chapter 51)

Why is this webcomic rated so low?

All the characters are well thought up, the narrative is solid, the pacing flows well, and there's decent character development. There's really no serious flaws that I can find in this comic.

This scratches my itch for mature 'Sword and Sorcery'-tag fantasy. I'd rate this almost as high as Drifters.

Great fun to read

It's been very entertaining to read so far-- nice clean art, awesome action, likeable characters and whatnot. I like how this explores some of the darker aspects to adventuring.
The start was good, but the current arc/quest is especially great-- very intense, and exciting. Cant wait for more.

The synopsis seems pretty ambiguous, so i'll just shed some light on this webcomic.

The story follows two adventurers, and their required quests as part of a famous guild, Paragon.
Yep, so they're living in what is essentially an RPG world-- mages, warriors, different races, strange relics and all. So here we have a swordsman, and a mage. Both very powerful, both very badass.

The first few quests seem pretty short and simple, but gradually the story reveals some kind of political intrigue and adds more details and depth, hinting of corruption, racism and stuff. The current quest with the orcs is very well set out.

A good exploration of some of the darker aspects of being an adventurer.
