This is the one that's the same as the anime.

It takes place in an alternate universe where technology beyond our own was achieved in the 1950s & the current year is 1978.

The story has elements of The Big O, Batman, X-Men, Onepunch Man, & all of the 1980s animes about cops & heroes in mechsuits & bio booster armor, such as Bubblegum Crisis.

NEXT are basically mutants & Hero TV is pretty much the X-Men, but the hero organization is run like one in Onepunch Man where heroes are also celebrities & have ranks. Three of he villains are parodies of The Joker, Harley Quinn, & R Dorothy Wayneright. Barnaby has Batman's tragic past. Kotetsu, like Saitama, gets no respect & everyone else gets credit for his work. Sky High bears an astounding resemblance to the Richard Dean Anderson MacGyver. Fire Emblem reminds me of both Ruby Rhod from The 5th Element, & Enrico Pucci from Jojo's Bizarre Adventures.

Adore the manga and the anime- it's silly, serious, sweet, action-packed and fun all at the same time. It's rare for me to say that I love all the characters in an anime/manga, but I can definitely say that for this. Tiger and Bunny's relationship is hilarious and adorable, and I thoroughly fell into the world of Sternbild when I was watching and reading this. The futuristic/1920s sort of vibe from the show is unique and endearing, too. Now that the anime is over, I can only read the manga, haha. So, hopefully, this series continues, because it's really a gem!
