From Aerandria Scans:

How does a girl declared by her childhood friend to be gloomy and anti-social transform into a cutie “as sweet as sugar” and every boy’s dream? And does every boy really dream of girls “as sweet as sugar”? Or is the rich and deep taste of coffee better than sugary glitter? The story of a girl who may not be sweet, but sure is as addictive as black coffee!

Typical shoujo

This manga is about a girl who has a personality like black coffee, but it's still "as sweet as sugar"—disgustingly so. There's nothing remotely creative about the plot. The male lead is a patronizing, self-entitled ass. The female lead is a mess, with little thought or planning put into her actions. Everything is resolved with a loose wig and a gust of wind.

And on top of that, the story is completely shallow—even for shoujo. What if the girl wasn't pretty enough to become a pin-up model? What would have changed? She would still be a social pariah, and the guy would still be an arrogant jerkoff that helps her when no one else is around, and only because he feels obligated to.

Maybe I'm being too harsh. To expect anything meaningful from something obviously geared towards young girls would be stupid, after all... but something about this manga just irked me.

Not that great. I cant quite put my finger on it. Just a bit stupid. Like who becomes a pinup model so they will become sweet and then have a misunderstanding about modeling in the first place with eachother. Just really dumb and not logical.

Such a lovely discovery after swamping through dozens of annoying mangas!! I mean:

1) It's in the male lead's POV which is so rare and something I personally love (and he isn't a pervert so we're not looking at ecchi thoughts all the time).
2) Childhood friends are always adorable. But they weren't so small that the later romance is eww-ish. More like 7-8?
3) Flashbacks are few and short. And no mushy cheesy promises or stuff, just normal, realistic friendship between kids.
4) The characters are very realistic. They've got such human flaws and traits, and you can recognize something in you or people you know.
5) It's just great overall.

Seriously, anyone who gave it less than an 8 must just not like the genre or be too shoujo-i-must-kiss-with-tongue-and-cry-every-other-chapter brainwashed. THIS IS A HIGH QUALITY MANGA THAT YOU JUST DO NOT FIND EVERY DAY, PEOPLE!!

READ IT, READ IT, READ IT.

P.S: The cover is misleading. There's no fanservice or smut at all, not even a panty joke.Very innocent and sweet manga.

It's really sweet and adorable. And the male lead isn't what he seems at all. He's actually trying to protect the girl. The ending is really nice and all.
WARNING!! if you don't like the sweet warm fuzzy feelings, this might not be the manga for you.
BUT!!! i can't say that it will give everyone the warm fuzzies, but it went pretty close with me.
