The "Trace" are also considered freaks and are generally shunned by the community, because some of them misused the powers for their own interest.
The story starts soon after the end of season 1. Captain of National Investigation Service Han Si Hyun tries to start a research program of communicating with Troubles, but gets rejected again and again. While meeting with a friend, who is helping him in his search for Kim Yoon-Sung (Mr. Beggar), he gets the absurd idea of starting research on his own.

More fun to read than Trace (not sure about the action just found it more engaging)

Trace 1.5 > 1.0 (it was so boring that I remember it as the most boring thing ever)
I CAN'T REMEMBER THE PLOT OF 2.0 DESPITE READING IT MORE RECENTLY. Must have been generic as hell then.
Why? The characters' dilemmas are better, more interesting, more "gray". The tension was omnipresent yet there's some semblance of breather. They have more individuality in this series.
The lore as usual is boring due to the fact that nothing ever feels progressing (always add more questions, without answers---what is this BDSM??), but that's a "Trace" issue, not really an "1.5" issue.

Trace 1.5 holds one of my highest rating for manga and manhwa. Unlike most manga, Trace is a rare and complex story with complex characters. Each event breaths life to the story and each experience contributes to the character's growth. Among the Trace Trilogy, Trace 1.5 is the best. It doesn't focus on petty interpersonal problems like the previous series and it does not have the stereotypical setting of "The Main Character Always Win." It is an extraordinary story of the struggle to find peace in a world that doesn't want it. A story of finding friends and family where you least expect it. It is a story that focus on the much needed bigger picture. For me, Trace 1.5 is must read for any manga/manhwa lover who is seeking a story that isn't your typical shounen fantasy.

Hm. Trace 1.5 was okay, but I liked the original Trace series far better.

Some reasons:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Hardly anyone dies. Trace was such a bleak story. My favorite scenes from the original were Mr. Beggar's empty eyes void of any hope whatsoever. Trace 1.5 is more hopeful.
The final fight was slightly disappointing: The main character spends several chapters getting trashed until he fights back and invariably wins - not because of superior strength, but because of plot.
And the conclusion is too open. I know this series will be followed by Trace 2.0, but still.

Trace 1.5 introduces a host of new issues and interesting characters to the Trace world, without ruining the feeling the original gave off.
While Trace focused primarily on the relationship between Traces and Humans, Trace 1.5 seems to be focusing on the relationship between Traces and their natural enemy, the Troubles. So far, it is done quite well, and does not forget about the issues between Traces and Humans, but does not focus on them as Trace did.
