Description
Madeth and Lalvan successfully obtain a castle but it seems that there is a rumour going on around that says the castle is haunted by a spirit. The spirit is actually an angel that blesses kings that are currently ruling the land of good fortune and that he will be loved by all the people of the land. He will also be most likely ruling the land for a long time.

However, one day, the appearance of a lady has stirred conflict between the two good friends. What will happen to the relationship of Madeth and Lalvan?

Yet another sad Aki story. Instead of Historical being her main genre, Tragedy should be it. :/
Elhanburg's Angel was a short read, but it was very interesting. The whole setting of the manga is like a stack of dominoes: One thing goes wrong, which causes everything else to go bad. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read at least a chapter of it, but this whole manga was hell of a psychological journey. It's a ton more dramatic than other Aki manga, I have to say, but it works well.
The story starts off very slowly, most being conversations between Lalvan and Madeth. When the Elhanburg's "angel" appears, things begin to stir up a bit, but not to the degree of when Miss Prima shows up. From Miss Prima's appearance on, everything plummets. She's definitely your perfect example of a femme fatale.
It's still a complex and good read. I personally enjoyed it. Not to the degree of Aruosumente, but it was definitely a change of pace from the norm [usual Aki manga and normal manga out there]. It was difficult to understand though. But, the end chapters explain everything very well so it all clears up in the end. I can't say as of yet how the overseas community thinks of Elhanburg's Angel, but it is doing well in Japan. It's one of the most popular series Haruca and it seems like the editors at Shodensha really like it.
And Perses is gorgeous, but don't get attached to him because I did and I regret it. sobs But congrats on Elhanburg's Angel being Aki's 10th published volume! biggrin
