Well, nobody seems to want to comment, so I’m gonna do the justice to this manga.
The plot is very good. The cues and the plot are, in fact, ridiculously good. It sounded like a movie.
Two things that I greatly appreciated:
first, this is a story taking place in a shop, and I love stories involving craftsmanship. I could really feel how much the tailor loved his work and that was very moving. It made me want to find something I would dedicate my life to.
Second, it wasn’t the stereotypical yaoi story. Both of the men acted like real men. It was very interesting to see that one was chasing after the other. You really got to sympathize with both of the characters, especially with the older (in my opinion, even if he’s one hell of a bastard ^^). And both helped each others moving forward, that was a good thing too.
Finally the art was very pretty, I loved their eyes, and their faces were very expressive.
Main themes : finding a goal in your life( central in this story), learning to communicate with other ppl (it’s no use being dull, sullen, uncouth or picking on others to get some attention), trying to live up to your lover’s expectations, getting some help/advices from older and more experienced ppl (how Japanese-like !), the necessity of not lying (to others or to yourself).
I think you can say that a book, a painting, even a comic, is good if, and only if, it has an impact on your daily life and makes you ponder on your actions. This is what happened for me with this manga.
Over the past 6 years I started reading yaoi, I’ve read many, MANY mangas, and this one is one I’m going to remember for a long time.
I never get tired reading it. I love this manga. Please, read it too.
