Unfortunately, I read this manga right after completing a truly amazing one, so I'm not particularly inclined to be nice to it. The twists are interesting, but the main character - Hana - is particularly annoying. She's one of those people whose speech bubbles persistently take up a third of every panel, and she tends to yell a whole lot. She's not all that talented, of average intelligence, and she lacks that pride in applying herself that makes one respect a person. She also has golden hair, which is so completely unnecessary (not to mention so biologically impossible! Have you seriously ever seen a mixed-blood Asian with yellow hair? Gah.)
To sum it up, Hana is one of those shoujo heroines whose only good point is her fighting spirit. I'm not sure. I must also commend her on her handling of the bullies.
Mizuki, aside from his, uh, special power, is also a cliche - a bad-tempered tsundere good-looking rich boy with a heart of gold, long black bangs which he peers darkly out at you from under, jumps out from nowhere to save/misunderstand the heroine, a tragic and misunderstood past, lonely, family troubles, um, you say it, he's got it. I dropped the manga after about 10 chapters, but I bet he speaks great English.
His one saving point is his two-faced public mask, which I think is hilarious... and... and his two faced public mask. Have I mentioned that yet? Hana's friends are also pretty funny, but they don't show up nearly enough to save the story.
Finally, everyone says such terribly hammy things to each other, all the time! ;_; Sob.
