But I just came across this manga and was like, why not? So I read it, and it made me feel all sorts of emotions that I just couldn't contain a rant.
Out of the 4 main characters only 2 are likeable, clueless Hinata and confused Al. Kagaya was definitely the most despicable one, if someone with "amnesia" comes onto you casue they think you're their lover, don't play along so you can sleep with them! That's deliberate rape. Seshir, who blatantly cheated on his lover, at least had the excuse of not wanting to be forced back to Japan. As long as he stayed in Arabia he had a chance to get his body back, I get the reasoning. But he behaved so differently from Hinata and knew things Hinata absolutely could not know, just explaining to Kagaya would've been enough. There was no reason to make them lovers.
Overall, Hinata was definitely the most likable one, but he barely changes as a character. The one time he wanted to improve himself and mature, he gave up a few pages later. At the end of the manga he's still his same old self, just pointlessly heartbroken. Oh right, the ending...
The ending was always a possibility, but as much as we question "What about their family and friends? Isn't it unrealistic to try and suddenly live as someone else?" etc. whenever we read these body switching stories, none of us actually wants the characters to switch back at the end. But this author went in straight for the kill, that life changing experience? That heart pounding first love? Gone, it's just a summer memory now. It's "realistic" yeah, but it's no fun at all. I guess that's why most of these body switching stories has one of the characters die or makes the switchers the love interests. That way the readers don't have to feel conflicted or screwed over.
Well that's my rant off my chest, I wouldn't recommend reading this. Even if you like reading trainwrecks, it's pretty boring by trainwreck standards.
