The "Seven Deadly Sins", a group of evil knights who conspired to overthrow the kingdom of Britannia, were said to have been eradicated by the Holy Knights, although some claim that they still live.

Ten years later, the Holy Knights have staged a Coup d'état and assassinated the king, becoming the new, tyrannical rulers of the kingdom.

Elizabeth, the king's daughter, sets out on a journey to find the "Seven Deadly Sins", and to enlist their help in taking back the kingdom.

Nominated for the 7th annual Manga Taishou Award.

Lol @ the guy comparing this to Ubel Blatt. Ubel Blatt dark, mature, and not ecchi like this manga? Haha what series are you reading. Ubel Blatt easily has just as much if not more fanservice and its recent arcs have been pretty boring. If Seven Deadly Sins is a watered down version of Ubel Blatt, then what the hell is Ubel Blatt compared to Berserk or Bastard?

Drinking champagne and complaining it's not Guinness essentially. Seven Deadly Sins is loads of fun, hitting on all the tropes of these types of series but also adding its own whacky and over-the-top spin. There's tons of promise for this comic and Suzuki Nakaba proves he can contend with all the other up and coming series.

Awesome characters

The mangaka has figured out that people care more about what happens to characters when you take time to develop them. In no other Shounen have I seen an entire chapter where two characters just talk about how they feel about their loved ones, making their romantic relationships more developed and the friendship between each other more real.

Reading through the comments
Seems like people are complaining preemptively about the villain. They obviously aren't caught up. wink
Comparisons to Übel Blatt are unfair. For Übel Blatt (poor thing)
Comparisons to Fullmetal are suprisingly ignorant. Compare Naruto to fullmetal and you'll find that lacking as well. Be realistic.
No one forgot The protagonist had that power, but seeing the cost of it, it's pretty obvious why he hasn't used it before.
If you think the protagonist and his love interest haven't developed we obviously aren't reading the same manga. They haven't developed as much as other characters but it's still there.

I'd realistically give it 9/10 but since it's getting more hate then it deserves I'll keep it at 10/10.

My favorite shounen right now. All shounen manga should learn from this one. Every character is interesting and complex and the fights make me want to see an anime version so much.

October 2014 update:
Something strange has happened to the story. Plot devices are being used that don't seem ideal and the main villain's motives are unclear at best. No idea what happened here.

Ohh I love this mange, it may have some boring parts but it funny with pinch of romance. It has 102 chapters so far, so I can't wait to see what's coming up. And I love the settings in which the manga takes place. The art it cool too. Although the knight's armors are kinda weird sometimes, I really recommend this manga

I'm personally a fan of the art style, captures your eyes, has a nice feel, and really gives you an urge to explore the surroundings(even if that's impossible). Has a decent start but we won't know how it fares till more chapters comes out.

This is genuinely one of the craziest, action filled shounen manga I've read in recent times. The artwork is top-notch, the character designs are great, and the story is pretty intriguing so far. The battles are on the level of DBZ, with all the characters containing explosive power way beyond the standard manga hero, and for people into that this is definitely a manga I recommend picking up. I expect this to go places.

if you are reading this simply because of the ubel blatt similarities don't. the plot is very similar, but the focus of this manga is entirely different. if you go in expecting it to be like ubel blatt you will hate it, and that's saddening because for what it is supposed to be(comedy) it's a great read so far. it's got an interesting enough story, good char backgrounds, and a lot of laughs.... which is all it really needs

(also gets a touch of epic romance a bit into it... was really surprising once it happened but i can tell you that you will shed big manly tears for

why discussing power level is a waste of time

This shonen is perfect. Humor, action, character, adventure.
People who are complaining about power level donít understand that it is the least interesting thing when you want to enjoy a shounen manga. When Oda losts his way in making his manga to realistic and slow, Nakaba title brings a refreshing draft by using good old methods.

If you're into shounen this is a "must read" manga, definitely went over my initial expectations.

Like all Suzuki Nakaba's works, there are grand characters that overflow with "power". It's WAY to early to tell if the plot will become complex, as it is in an introduction step...but if you like his previous works, then you will definitely enjoy looking at cool characters that are able to do what we all would like to.
