Even if you put the shotacon aside, it's pretty terrible

I don't know if it was only the translation's fault (which in this case was very bad), but it was really hard to follow and understand the story. The whole manga was such a mess, I could hardly get who was who and what was the plot. The art is pretty meh too, plus the shotacon scenes are also somewhat disturbing, so it's a big no-no from me.

Don't waste your time with this one, find something better, there's a ton.

My Review!

The Genre: For those who are not already aware, this is a Shotacon series. The first four chapters revolve around a preteen boy named Yuzu who becomes involved with a guy named Shuro, who is a few years older. In later chapters, however, the story becomes centered around Shuro's younger brother, Shiroka(tae) who is presumed to be around 5? And his later interest, Kuroha, who appears to be around Shuro's age.

The Translation: It is averagely translated in my opinion, some of the dialogue is awkward and there are a couple of instances when names are spelled differently, (possibly intentional?) But it is very understandable and you shouldn't have any trouble understanding the story.

The Plot: For the first few chapters, the story revolves around Yuzu who is a young village boy with many sisters. It is around the time when the Tetsugome Zorainu (Iron Rice Dog) is supposed to choose his bride for the year. While doing all the work for his family, Yuzu is discovered by what is assumed to be the Tetsugome Zorainu, Shuro, and it immediately becomes clear that Shuro is interested in Yuzu. Though it becomes obvious a while later, not everything is so simple as Yuzu being a willing bride, and not everything is as Shuro claimed.
-
The second half of the story revolves around Shiroka who is Shuro's younger brother, and a crow Tengu named Kuroha who he, Shuro, Shiroka, and Yuzu live with. Since Shiroka only knows the Fox language and is unable to verbally communicate with anyone but Shuro, Kuroha often teases and bullies Shiroka, but as the story progresses, they develop mutual feelings for each other.

Artwork: The artwork is of a very cute style and the outfits each of the characters wear are very interesting to say the least, they're traditional but also very fantasy-like. Some of the things KAMEI has drawn in are very fascinating, such as the wings in Kuroha's hair!

Graphic level: This story contains 18+ scenes which aren't for everyone, as they do contain minors! However, these scenes aren't excessively graphic; the actual penetrations are hardly seen and the artist seems to prefer leaving most of it to your imagination.

My Opinion: It's one of my favorites, I love the setting and the characters, which of, are all memorable. The plot though, falters after the first four chapters, becoming less linear and more about the relationship of Kuroha and Shirotae (which isn't a totally bad thing) but there is not consistent overall plot that encases all the chapters into a whole apart from Shiro's and Kuroha's relationship growing. This being said, there is no clear resolution to the story and the 'final chapter' left me wishing there was some last scene that tied the story up, but it just kinda ends out of nowhere.

I recommend this to everyone who doesn't mind Shotacon!

Hard core Shotacon

If you are into hard core shotacon, this is probably for you. For the first 3-4 chapters, it was a good story. I liked the first couple of Yuzu and Shu. They were a cute couple and the story of how they got together and grew as a couple as they got comfortable into married life was well told, especially how Shu's little brother Shiro adjusted. Everything went downhill from there though.

I just couldn't like the second couple. Now, I like a little shotacon but the second couple was too much. Shiro was a toddler who was still learning to speak and whose biggest priority was his afternoon nap. Yet, what follows for the next 10 chapters is building situations where it leads to Kuroha and him doing it. The whole supernatural feel and plot the story had disappears entirely, only to become a pedophilic hentai.

Now, I realize this is shotacon so a young age is to be expected but even that tag doesn't prepare you to read 10 chapters of a toddler having sex. It got boring too. I mean, with Shiro's age and undeveloped body they really couldn't do more than the typical. What you saw the first time, you'll just see the other times.

I have to know...

So why is Shirotae always saying "kon" and speaking nonsense words? Did the explanation fly over my head or what?

But yes, if you liked the first story relationship arc with Yuyu, lo siento, but the majority of the 2 volumes are shota involving a speech troubled toddler fox and a high school-aged crow tengu. I was put off because of this--how can you even build a relationship with a 4 year old who can't even speak or write or communicate except by saying "kon' with different inflections?? It started to get pretty annoying

Don't disregard the shota label...

I was a little reassured by the first few chapters that this wasn't going to be bad. Yuzu(or yuyu? depending on the chapter) seems sort of young, but not really. Everyone is a bit chibi so he's probably a teenager and in the end it didn't feel wrong. However, once the younger brother comes in, it all gets extremely creepy. He is insanely adorable, yes, but you can't ignore that there is blatant shota, and it does not feel like he's old enough to understand or appreciate what is going on at all. He's being preyed upon by an adult. If you're into this, then I'm sure you'd like it. I understand I was reading something with a shota label so I should have known it wasn't my cup of tea and moved along, therefore I won't give this a low score based on it. I felt the other comments were a bit misleading however because there really is a lot of decidedly uncomfortable shota content so I thought I'd mention so.

Soooo cute. The first 2 chapters were okay but when the younger brother gets introduced, that's when it gets good. The plot is normal but the art (the younger brother) is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. He's like a perfect fluffy furry full of cuteness thing. Lol. I can't find any other ways to describe him. This is not even about the romance. It's all about how cute he is and all the things he does that makes him even cuter.

So cute! Okay, I don't normally like shota, and I did sometimes get a feeling of it, which is why I'm lowering the score a little. (And that was with the older uke, too. ^^; ) But most of it is really cute! And v2 made me laugh out loud! xD
