Of course Asumiko sensei's works always have characters to sympathize with. No matter how twisted they are. This one isn't as twisted but if he really turned out to be his father then yep, it totally is twisted. But I'm not sure. I'm guessing it is, since he wants to lie that her son had died just so he can run away with him afterwards. Plus they tend to sarcastically use the word uncle, so I think the son knows a little something something about whether he really is his uncle's nephew or not.
