Smut at it's... mediocre?
The reason why I found this manga mediocre at the best, was probably due to the fact that my expectations were higher. I tend to enjoy plots with some elements from the oldest known fantasy book, so I thought I would enjoy a good story with some explicit heated action added. What I got was some explicit heated action with a little bit of story added, dragged out to four volumes.
The characters are mostly one-dimensional and quite boring, except for the rave-demon-boy, which actually saw some character development and was quite amusing. Then again the only person whose interpretation of the infamous biblical figure Lucifer I've found acceptable is Milton.
There are a lot of those "sudden appearances" and "sudden revelations" and though they are intended to be that way, they actually aren't that surprising.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Yes of course the king of the underground would have a girlfriend that is demon. And the sudden "Hey, Lucifer, I'm actually an archangel, one of your worst enemies" did seem sudden, but predictable.
Overall, for some people there might be too much plot for it's genre, but for me there was just a bit too little. And the art was acceptable, for shoujo - probably more than so.
Akuma na Eros
This was one of the first shoujo stories I read when I first got into manga. The story tells the trials and tribulations of a Catholic schoolgirl who, in an effort to cast a spell on her crush, summons Satan. Later on, the story also involves Michael, the first angel from heaven.
One of the things that initially attracted me to this manga was the "taboo" play on christianity and religion, and because "Satan" was one of the better male leads Shinjou Mayu has come up with. The manga as a whole isn't anything groundbreaking, but it is one of the better works by Shinjou Mayu. The guy isn't obsessive, nor is he horny 24-7, and the girl isn't as clueless as other heroines (read - Love Celeb), plus the art is quite good. I'd recommend this to anyone who's a fan of shoujo, smut or romance, and who isn't sensitive to religion.
Worthless but worth the time.
I read this out of curiousity. I agree with the others that this is just worthless prattling. I don`t like the girl or the way `satan` is portrayed. If he`d been just a demon or something I`d be fine with it but the author actually used 'satan` not even lucifer. As a Christian, it`s very disturbing (even my muslim friends didnt find this amusing) the way it shows that demons can enter heaven and how satan manifests into a human and still calls himself satan. simply wtf. the smuts weren`t that extreme, typical heroine with an underdeveloped body, possessive devil and your knight in shining armor. story makes no sense and ends abruptly. Honestly, I think Shinjo Mayu does batter than this, but this was worth passing the time with.
Worth a shot ;)
I remember enjoying this the first time I read it but now... it makes me cringe quite a lot. I enjoy the concept of exploring a romance for Satan; after all, he IS a fallen angel so the possibility of him containing traces of good is inevitable. After all, he is a product of God who is inherently good.
Philosophy aside, this is super smutty. However, the art isn't great (Mayu is always crap at drawing faces side on... the chins look really weird!) and the heroine is annoying and always acts like she's being raped when she wants it "No... Please!" and seriously, it makes me want to hit her. But, for a light read, this is fun.
wow shallow as
hell. xD god that was lame. but really the girl was so stupid i wanted to punch her. O__O who the hell gives up their virginty to get a guy to like them. isnt that the same as screaming "im a whore!" seriously ^^; pathetically stupid.its a waste of time.... I hated it. not even worth reading even if your running out of manga's to read. O_O plus what was with the blonde haired guy (didnt bother to remember names if you cant tell xD) randomly turning into an the Archangel Micheal? i mean WTF?!
Not bad ^_^
Obviously, no one would fall in love with Satan in the real world. But this is a shoujo manga after all, right? And a Shinjo Mayu none the less, so yeah..... I think that is pretty self explanatory. Expect lotsa smut and bullying from the male lead. This entertained me, but might annoy some.
Why called Satan....it would better just call him like demon lord or sth......... Anyway........i find this romance .....a little scary.......frightening it isn't rape......but it still spreading a frightening aura though i dont' feel sweet..... but scared it is sitll a romance htough
if it was anyone but satan... i would love this story .. i just didn't like the way heaven was portrayed as a place without love blablablah and it was just a lil wierd.. i mean yes the story was good it's just i didn't like the satan/christian thing.. and the way satan was romanticised.. (however that is only because of my religious prefrance) so over all it's a cute story...
Give it a try!
This is the first and the best manga I've read by Shinjo Mayu (I'm not fond of smutty manga though). What i like the best the slow romance between the virgin and the Akuma. It got me keep reading despite some (kind of) rape scene.
I mean I suppose it was alright (aka: I finished it) but it was kind of like a bad soap opera, you call it stupid but once you start watching its quite hard not to be fascinated by it. I'm not sure if that means this was good or not tho lol although a few parts did make me swoon because satan (i still feel weird sayin that) was very sexy and possessive but i did have to force myself to finish the last few chapters
