A little to weak female

I really like this manga and all Mayu Shinjo's work is awesome! biggrin But what I don't really like is that the girl is SO god damn weak! She can never stand up for herself, and sure I like that her boyfriend protects her. But still, in almost every situation, he must defend her. It's a little annoying.

I like this manga and it's ok for me... No too good not too bad... I like mayu-sensei's works and i like this the most... But i must say all her work focus about band and 'trying to separate' themes and it takes my attetion in a way. I havent read the whole manga YET but i would reccomend this for those readers who like to see more of a manly guy who always protect the female heroine... To make it simple , the story always revolves around the damsel in distress..(^_^) but i might edit this comment after reading the whole thing..(^_^)

This manga has a really big problem--the plot is basically the same for most of the series. I can sum it up like so: People are constantly throwing themselves at Sakuya/Aine and trying to break them up/take them for themselves. *insert sex scene every so often*

I only made it to volume 15. I couldn't take it anymore and just said screw it.

Difficult to Empathize

I like my smut just as much as the next person, but this is the first smut manga that made me wish I didn't have to wade through the muck of a storyline and the heroine's pathetic running scenes to get to the "good" parts. The characters shift personalities so much, but they don't grow at all. If you like a string of shojo-smut one-shots compiled in one continuous story, this is the manga for you. Disappointed.

The words I'd use to sum up this series: Over the top. Was it great literature? No, not by any stretch of the imagination. But it was very entertaining. This soap opera like drama was like a trainwreck, I just couldn't look away. I did like the characters somewhat as well, pushy Sakuya and the airheaded Aine. I thought they went well together and it's refreshing to read a shoujo where the characters aren't afraid to get physical. Maybe because I'm older, but I tend to roll my eyes at the stories where even holding hands is a major event and worthy of embarassment.

...cringe

When I first read the description to this manga I was looking forward to reading it, however I was sadly disappointed. I usually don't mind these kind of stories but I'm more of a romantic comedy fan so perhaps I'm not the best judge.
It seemed to me that the heroines love for the main guy was pretty much based on how good looking he was, she was a pushover and never seemed happy unless she was worrying about something, needless to say I found her annoying. If that where my only complaint I'd of probably ploughed on, it was the overdose of clichés that did it, seriously the clichés where like the end product of feeding an elephant phall... eyewateringly painful and all over the place. And if that wasn't bad enough it was unbelievably cringe worthy, oh the pages where dripping with cringe, I found myself not being able to read lines without inwardly groaning so much so that I just started skipping through pages.
Now I've only read the first volume so perhaps it picks up, though I very much doubt it, but that's something I'm not going to find out as I won't be continuing this series. I can see why people may like the manga but its not for me, so each to there own I suppose.

It's shoujo-tastic. It's also probably the first of it's kind to infuriate me; I can deal with helpless girls and knight in shining armour moments, but there's just way to many of the cliché moments that it goes beyond the scope of shoujo-reality that usually exists within similar titles.

Some will say it's not real, it's a manga, it doesn't have to be realistic, and that's fine, but to me, this is too far removed from both the real and shoujo world for me to finish reading at this point, it really is a Mills & Boon novel for teenagers.

No rating submitted, I can't really give one. It's not something I really care for reading, but for who it tries to appeal to (horny virgin girls who want whatever current teen hearthrob to do them), it's probably a 12/10 or something. That kind of comment might be a bit harsh, but if you read the first couple of volumes you'll understand how apt it is.

Oh my, what is there to say that hasn't already been said...IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME AND REINS SUPREME OVER ALL ROMANTIC MANGA!!!!!!!!1 *clears throat* I'm really at a loss for words here. Truly.

But seriously, I read this mostly because I wasn't allowed to. My older sister said along time ago that it was to "Graphic" so to speak. So I just thought recently "She'll never know" So I read it and fell in love! Unlike most people I enjoyed Aine's behavior. She was always soo cute, and I loved the way Sakuya acted. And I adored the ending. I cried. Then I wondered why my sister didn't want me reading such a sweet story. The world may never know. I certainly won't.

I recommend this to someone with alot of free time and patients. Every little bit counts!

This manga is one of those titles with a pretty wild premise, cliched to high heaven and so very sappy and the definition of 'shojou'. But I can't stop reading! Even though I laugh at the story (and it's not because there's anything intentionally funny) and scoff at the ridiculousness of the plot twists, it's one of those silly little stories that somehow keeps you wanting more. You know how this ends, there's no possible way it would deviate from the traditional happy ending, but it's still fascinating to read all the way through and follow Aine's impossibly 'colourful' life =P

A bit repetitive, but not bad...

If you like more to your stories... find something else... if you like a quick read, something that will get you out of real life for a few moments... read this. I like the guys in the story, specially the main guy Sakuya... and the chick, Aine isn't horrid... just very naive and at times ditzy.

Ok I admit Aine's emotions and struggles were a bit repetitive in the beginning, and she seemed to forget her vow to become a woman worthy of Sakuya quickly. Eventually however, we do see her faith and strengths deepen and that is when we get to see Sakuya toy with people... which was quite fun. However things can't go smoothly and of course cliched things happen, and you ask yourself didn't Aine learn anything. Yet, we must remember her type of character -naive- and expect such things.

Yes, there is smut, yes there is a lot of it, however not much in the act of sex is shown... so you just see a naked girl on a bed getting kissed... well quite frequently.

I have yet to finish this manga, but I am looking forward to the end. I liked how Aine has turned out, and how other people have been changed because of her outlook on life.

I have at this point seen most of the anime and have read most of the manga, and both have their strong points and their weak points, but I do not regret the time I have spent on either.
