Description
Fujishima Takara goes to high school and will start living in a dorm because he has lost all his family except for his father, who's always away for his work. Takara has to share a room with Hosaka Kiyomine. Living together isn't easy, and many rows ensue. Kiyomine is very introverted, while Takara is just the opposite. At first the two get on each other's nerves because of those differences. But things turn towards friendship and later on towards love.

Yes, it was fluffy, cute, funny, and serious at times but the manga was repetitive and one of the biggest tease ever. It did say shounen ai so I should've seen that coming, but the biggest bore was how the author keeps mentioning the exaggerated and repetitive "connection" between the two main character. She's always trying to make a point of how perfect they are for each other but she seriously goes overboard with it sometimes. I think the whole manga should be cut down to half and it would be SO much better just because I wouldn't have to read about unnecessary characters or plot that comes into the storyline. (Spoiler ahead) After the accident with Kou and Ayako I was disappointed at how fast Takaya forgave Kiyomine for freaking out. It DIDNT fit Takaya's character. Also Takaya becomes a very girlishly character through out the manga even tho the whole point to his personality is having a femine complex. He's like crying everywhere and gripping onto every guys that he meets as if he's a child, like please choose one characteristic or the other. (Spoiler end)
Overall, it was still enjoyable up to certain points and events but I stopped reading after the 16th volume and skipped to the end so yeah. If you enjoy a more clear romantic relationship between the two main guys and nothing too repetitive then this isn't for you. But if you enjoy a slow romance with draggy fluffy storyline then go for it.

Komatta toki ni wa hoshi ni kike!

I don't know what to feel or what to say, i'm just frustrated that i wanted to cry, really bad. Yes it is certainly a good manga, a really good manga, it tackled deep about relationships, not just about love, but friendship, hatred, angst, regret, family. It's clearly a Shounen ai genre manga, the characters relationship started in an interesting manner that gradually becomes sweeter and deeper that you'll want more of it, but there is no clear explanation (i don't know how to put up a word about that clear "something") on what is really going on on them, or what is their feelings for each other. The author gives this excitement feeling when the characters have a sweet progress, that slowly builds up within you, at first i'm enjoying the fact that after 10-20 chapters they are still not confessing on each other, but that excitement on me turns into being impatient, then became a doubt and at the end a frustration. Idk if the author deliver their feelings as a love for each other as friends? Brothers? Or lovers? But it is clear that they are so precious to each other, but that adds to the frustration that i am feeling because it is just vague to me, i can't grasp the situation. Well their intimacy w/ each other are not the one you can call of "just friends". The other characters relationship are settled(i think?) but still gives off that feeling of uncertainty, though i don't know what happened to half of the others because they just kinda dissapeared from the scenes. The slice of life is great, i bet the author is so perceptive and have lots of deep experiences. The comedy is well done, but i don't see justice on how the author ended the manga, i hope that when takara came back, all of his friends are there to welcome him, though when kiyomine embraced him with a super sad longing face i just kind of accepted it, because it's touching. Well i don't really like the ending but i really love this manga, i learned a lot from it. I just want to believe that the author makes takara and kiyomine love each other very much not as friends, room mates or brothers but Lovers. I hope that even if this manga is from a long time ago, the author will write a series with complete details about what happened to all of this characters after even if its only a 5-10 chapters. I just can't get enough. I REALLY DON'T LIKE THE ENDING! I want the ending to be ended with them sharing a passionate kiss! Or words like "i love you very much!!" *pant. (I totally lose myself, forgive me) btw i really love takara's face OMG so adorable and fierce

One really amazing manga!!!

I started reading this 3 days ago. I managed to finish all 26 volumes in three days. Man. Reading this, I was like "GOD, THIS MANGA IS AWESOME! I CAN'T WAIT TO FINISH IT!" and then when I reached the end, I kept feeling like "Why? I don't want it to end!" Felt like I was going through college graduation again. (Although technically, I still feel like that.)

The relationships in this manga are so simple and complex yet ever so moving! Never seen anything like it! And I love all the comedy bits that pop up! They NEVER get old and something always pops up. But don't get the wrong idea, I'm not saying that it's all dramatic and over the top. The mangaka is seriously amazing for being able to balance everything to be just right.

But I am sorry to say this but the shounen-ai in this manga:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The ending didn't end romantically! I read through 26 volumes and it's more like they just keep living together like room mates. Actually, that's exactly what happened. They stayed room mates through out the manga and then when they get into college, THEY STILL STAY AS ROOM MATES! There is no romantic relationship like NORMAL shounen-ai manga. It's more like the mangaka made it so that the readers have to come up with their own ideas on how Kiyomine and Takara will live the rest of their lives. And there's absolutely no confirmation that they get into a romantic relationship! GOD! Feels like reading Ouran High School only without the looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg romance development and also without the ending which ended everything on the right note.

But I'd still highly recommend it to people to read, although seriously, the shounen-ai here doesn't quite count.

Like, really. I can't start to explain how much I like this manga, how much I love the characters. Sadly, I already read the final chapter in japanese and the ending isn't what I expected it to be (won't be giving any spoiler, though), so I hope Abe-sensei creates a sequel or an extra chapter or something to give closure to their relationship sad

Conflicted

I'm usually the biggest advocate for slow romance. In all honesty, I feel like if you want to love someone, you need to love someone outside of those romantic moments. Daily lives, life with them. On one hand, you're hard pressed to find a BL these days with this much development, of the two main characters, and of the people around them. You get sucked up into it, and before you know it, 25 volumes have gone by.There are some very surprisingly strong characterizations--several characters I couldn't help but feel a passionate dislike for, others I loved immensely--idk. If there was ever a manga that was very slice of life, it is this one.

The BL is...just tonally weird? It happened, but...it's subtle. At the same time, like--when did it start? It's less of the 'you grow with them to the point you don't even realize they've fallen in with each other' subtle and more of a 'at one point, Kiyomine really decided he liked Takara'. It's a little weird for me, but I do love their friendship. I don't really like how...Takara's girlish looks gets played out alot? It's a recurring thing that keeps coming back, and it keeps getting pretty annoying. At the same time, Kiyomine's selfishness being played against Takara's lack of self-awareness--seems so typecasted and flat. At the same time, some part of it all is rubbing me off the wrong way: Is it the way Takara's the school idol? The unnecessary plots that just basically involve Takara crossdressing as a girl is just really weird.

The beginning of the manga was strong with conflicts and dealing with Takara's complex and story and how he deals with people versus Kiyomine, but for the recent chapters, it's kind of...domestic-feeling. How it's demonstrated is not really my thing, but if that's your boat, I say go for it.

If you're not into fluff and slice of life, this manga isn't for you.

I really love this manga. Most of the characters are really relatable and I like them. THis manga is not just full of fluff, it's also full of slice of life. Yes, it's wordy but the word's are definetley worth the read and also the gorgeous art.

Great manga ~

The first time I read this manga, I really liked it. It was cute and lovable. And the protagonist, despite his appearance, is actually pretty strong -- which is good, I'm not the type to go for type of protagonists who can't do anything by themselves. I finished the current chapters, then I go back and read it a second time. The third time, the flaws showed. I don't get why Abe-sensei must make everyone to like him, like, Takara meets a new character, the character dislike him, Takara shows how much of a caring person he is and the character grow fond of him. That's what happened most of the time, which is something that annoyed me. Other than that, it's a great manga and I highly recommend it nonetheless.
