But she is the bride of demon prophecy, and her blood grants incredible powers, her flesh immortality. Now the demon realm is fighting over the right to her hand...or her life!

misao's ability to cry in every single page is tremendous
and i admire her for that.. not. it's bloody annoying. seriously, is life really that pathetic? sigh.. but then again who am i to judge, heh? aside from that, the story and romance is not that bad. hardly 7 out of 10 then.

I Love It
wah, this is one of my favorite manga, the story was so interesting, i love the way Kyo and misao hehe... eventually this is including so many "more than an usual romance", but in good way.. i am anticipating what will happen in the next chapter, so so beautiful, can't imagine the story and it become more more interesting... hope it will be happy ending, for kyo and misao ^^ i am ready including this manga to my reading list
What's with misao? she is whining almost every chapter :/ What's wrong with her? and she's crying like she has constipation or something. i've read till chapter 26 and i can say, it was the WORST MANGA i ever read. misao makes a sad face and everyone's like 'what's wrong dear misao?' LIKE IF SHE WANTS PEOPLE TO HAVE SYMPATHY FOR HER D:< she's a useless bitch! like how, in chap 26, kyou had to have sex with another woman.. you should've look at misao's face at that time.. i wanted to slap her then throw her in a river.. if she's so jealous, go and have it with kyou herself! she's like kaname from vk, selfishly keeping kyou for herself.. it's not called love!
i hate how everyone cares about her.. as if she was a 9 year old chick :\ she's 14 or 16 for god's sake!!
geez, misao spoiled the manga for me. DROPPED 1/10!

LOL this manga feels like a joke
Okay I'm not gonna say much here, since everyone else has already pointed out all the "good" and the bad of the series, and I know people can get butthurt pretty badly when their favourites get criticized in general. The only thing I just HAVE to say out loud (as it's bugging me horrendously) is how in the world did this manga get an award? Seriously, were they out of mangas to give awards to at the time? I know I'm not a manga expert and all, but I'm pretty sure there're way better manga series out there which deserve the award so much more.
Not Great, but Not Bad
Honestly its not that bad, if you can get past the heroine been so, I don't really know how to describe, but weak would be best for a lack of a better word. She's there to support the main lead, and serves her purpose well, I think. At first I was excited reading it, but she does start getting annoying, and somehow manages to ruin the story. In all honestly the only reason I believe there even is a story is because of Shou, and its the only thing that keeps me reading it, cause he causes the story to go in all kinds of directions whether directly or indirectly.
The fact that this is an award-winning work should be a horrendous joke. The story was set up to be a decent fantasy piece, but the protagonist Misao simply ruined it (and I suppose Kyou as well, come to think of it). Misao is a frustratingly weak lead. Despite how far I've read to waste time (well-wasted!!) and to see a magical transformation in the protagonist, I'm dropping it. No mangaka should be proud of such a ridiculous character, and a blindly given award for that matter.

Good Story but Terrible Female Lead...
Misao is just weak and perverted. Pretty much cried in every chapter, and like some of the administrators who had stated below, she acts all pure and innocent and acts like she doesn't want kyo to touch her but lets him do what he wants with her anyway. The story is good, I just cant stand the female lead. Especially her perverted face sometimes.
Misao must be dehydrated 24/7
because girlfriend cannot go 2 pages without crying. In the beginning I noticed it but thought it had more to do with her new situation, but as I read Volume 13 it's become apparent that no, she's just a really weak female character. Like other reviewers, I also agree that I only read each new volume because of the time I've already invested in it.
Some unwarranted harsh comments
Okay, rape is defined as being forced to have sex against your will and without your consent. Therefore, if Misao, however stupidly, offered to have sex with Kyou then it is not rape. Secondly, characters - and that includes women - have done much, much worse things in (shoujo) manga than have sex with someone they love to save said person from death. I'm not advocating it, I'm just saying that there are worse things shoujo heroines have done in order to "save the person they love"...like having sex with the person they don't love, but that's a different matter. A lot of people describe Misao as weak and relying on Kyou. This is true; but how else is a perfectly normal girl supposed to survive demon attacks etc. if she has no powers? Isn't it kind of impossible for her to do anything but rely on Kyou and his bodyguard people in order to survive? The plot is okay - it's there, there is an end point which the mangaka is getting to in a roundabout convoluted, way (nevertheless, though, she's getting there). I, for one, am quite curious about the prophecy and what could be so terrible about it.
In short, I feel like a lot of these negative reviews are a bit harsh. Most shoujo is, unfortunately, like this. The fact that Misao is not a super innocent, super naive heroine, and that she doesn't freak out when her boyfriend kisses her, is kind of a plus.

Simple but cool
You'll need a better understanding of Japanese folklore (and at some points, Japanese global culture) to really appreciate this manga...that's all it takes to become a great reading! Sorry for my English btw...
