Without giving too much away, my two favorite characters from 'The Breaker' do not appear in this sequel and hence I'm left with the decent protagonist to carry this series. The fact that it turns into somewhat of a harem is pretty disappointing since the previous serious was pretty straightforward on the romance aspect. But I digress, the action is still as awesome as ever and to be honest that's the main attraction of this series and for me since the story and characters are still pretty decent I still like this series. The Breaker was awesome. New Waves is very good.

The only thing I hate about it is the chapter's are too SHORT! LoL! It's a great Martial Art manga and definitely one of the best. The story progress is Slow and Steady but I still love it. It takes a few chapters to get to the point. My advice is read only after 5 or more chapter's already released if you're impatient otherwise it'll be torture.

Just do not expect much history development for a single chapter and you will like it.

The chapters seems to be shortm mostly because almost nothing new happens nor that we give a crap.

40% is just a re-cap
40% repetition of the last chapter, same moves, maybe a diferrent place or point of view
20% some new that add badly nothing to the current flow of history of the chapter

I would say this is a frustanting manga for hooking up it's reader by only to see if something will finally happen.

I started reading this season from the day it was published, I was really excited but when I look back, I just see a pointless haze. The new characters are so depth-less and annoying. The numbers grows with each new chapter! It's hard to keep up with them.
I agree with @MatrixM, the harem part is seriously irritating. The jealousy, cheese and predictable behavior of all the women around Shioon is nerve wrecking. After a gap of 2-3 months, I catch up on this manga, but nothing really happens except that any new girl that appears, "mysteriously" falls in love with Shioon -.-
I liked the character 'Cool Guy', true to his name, I found him cool and Shioon, a fool. -_-
Frankly I'v forgotten what I had read back in 2010(When the series started) Now I start a chapter with a sigh. My respect for the first season is what keeps me going. I will definitely not drop reading, what with the ART BEING HEAVENLY.
I'd like to convey this message to the author though, PLZZZ BRING THE BREAKER BACK ON IT'S FEET *Wolf Cry*

The first series was very fast-paced, one thing after another. This one is in it for the long haul.

I'm not among those who say it's crap until he can use some form of martial arts, I still thoroughly enjoyed it before then.

But it's definitely a step-down. E.g Shion's been building a little harem, kinda like the authors are trying to cater to a larger audience. The art style itself is more...childish. (also I'm very confused as to what his current relationship with Saehee actually is....>.>)
And it seems strange when you consider Nine Arts Dragon's fight against that guy witht hat fist technique, you kinda wonder where all the high-level practitioners are coming from.

Good sequel, but it's kinda slow-paced............ I wanna see more of Chunwoo again, though it isn't quite possible I guess. The main lead gets kinda annoying, since he always happens to be in the same situation over and over again and then blaming himself for how weak he is, when people around him just wanna protect him........ yeah idk THAT gets annoying. The first part had more comical stuff in it, this one is all serious now, I guess cos Chunwoo and Shiho duo aren't seen anymore.

EDIT: SOMEONE has to clean the tags/catergories.......... I mean, there's a shitload of tags here that are so irrelevant lol.

EDIT 7/4/2013: FINALLY. FINALLY HE HAS AWAKENED AS A GOD. After 100 chapters of him getting treated like a piece of shit it is finally time for him to be treating everyone else like people who are beneath him OH MY GOD.

Starts out slow but is starting to pick up pace. It can be a bit frustrating though as Shioon never really makes any progress in permanently regaining his powers until the recent couple of chapters (hopefully).
For those who think that the series is too slow, remember that The Breaker also started off slowly and it was a monthly publication, thus New Waves would seem even slower with its weekly release of fewer pages.

The manga just completed enough of itself for you to be able to keep reading up to a point where you can feel satisfied and excited for the next chapter without the discouragement that having to wait would give you Also bad ass fights scenes that get your heart pumping like i said start reading now and you won't be able to stop until you catch up.

***old Post***
One of the things I like about New waves is that the MC levels up and overcomes his weaknesses (like in all manga ) and so do his enemies, cool guy leveled up since the last time he fought and the audience was able to see his power of analyzation a little more closely. It's interesting that the Author still portrays Shioon as learning from his master or at least growing to be able to use his master's teachings as always great fight scenes and awesome art 10/10. And for all you guys bitchin about it being slow... calm down every manga has a proper pace and if this one went faster the newly introduced characters wouldn't have time to develop and then this manga just wouldn't run well

As much as I LOVED the previous season, New Waves has been a great let down. It started off with Shioon trying to regain his balance in life after his master's departure. The beginning was good (rather slow) there was a heavy hint of Nine Arts Dragon returning, but when he did, the story line didn't change was more like a cameo :S The action scenes were pretty good but got repetitive and some situations could have been avoided without a fight. We pretty much got the point of Shioon being amazing, but every character gets stunned and impressed etc...their inner dialogue was getting on my nerves. It's been 80 chapters now, and there's nothing greatly notable while the author created wonders within 79 chapters in The Breaker :/
New Characters - 6.5/10 (I thought too many were kinda useless)
Art - 10/10 (as ever)
Story - 6.5-7/10 (I want more of 9AD!)
Can expect more in future maybe, really hoping they'd do something more with this series.
