a LOT of shinju mayu's work is smutt.... urgh. I wish she'd cut down on the smut a bit. I really liked the storyline for this one. And I don't mind smutt. In this one, it worked fine. ^-^ The art's not the best, but she got a lot better after every chapter. And she did start the series in 1997. I actually quite like Shinjo Mayu's works. For this one, I say go for it! But when you stop liking it... don't read on. Because for this one, I think it's just you like it or you don't. I think it's one of the ones where if you like it, you really, really like it. If you don't, then you just can't stand it D<
I for one, really, really liked it. >-<
I bought the entire series. It was sooo good. (but I don't have volumes 2 and 9 TT-TT)
The ending was satisfying... but not the best// Good though. Not rushed.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that if you liked the storyline but didn't like how shoujo it was, then try the anime. It has a different feel. And it's not so shoujo. XD
I happen to like both the anime and manga. lol.

Bishounen + stupid girl = smut. Emphasis on the "equals."

Shinjo Mayu's smut is the ultimate smut. It's so smutty that you can't just casually juxtapose her smut with manga series of other genres.

I have to agree at the comment below. This manga is all about sex. Suprisingly this manga was popular with the young girls which is allarming. IMO I think this manga is created to fulfill girl's sexual fantasies or perversion. Anyway the plot is cliche and repetitive; girl gets bullied guy rescue girl, girl was hurt guy avenge girl. There is no progress with the character and as the story continues
it gets worst.

I recommend this manga to all shinjo mayu fan's who love weak female who gets rape by her partner and some villains.

All I can say to the next readers ; read this manga at your own risk.

Okay, so...I've just started to read this and I'm not sure what I should say. Maybe my opinion my change if I get to the end or something. The only character that I'm not satisified, right from the start, is Aine. I know all girls are weak and so on but that's not necessarily true either. At first, I thought that I can accept the fact that she's weak and not strong minded. But as I get into the middle of the story, I just realized that she's just running around in circles. She never change, even from the start. She's still having that "I must be a burden, so I need to give up!" and starts to run away. Although I think she braves up a little with the Ayako case. (I really feel like slapping Ayako, really!)

I hope she'll grow stronger, instead of just counting on Sakuya for protection or giving up Sakuya for the sake of protecting him in her own way or something. I mean, Sakuya will be hurt too!
Instead, I hope to see that she'll protect their love and not giving up!! *sighs* I better continue reading it. tsk tsk.

Wow, this was the first smutty manga I ever read. The artwork is very beautiful. And even with the cliche storyline, its entertaining and a good read. I liked it.

I usually don't read any mangas pre 2000 since the style of the 90s are to old fashion for me thus I dont like anything drawn before 2000, but this was an exception since it was by shinjo mayu. Her work is awsome down from storyline to drawing. Although I can not vouch for anything she drew before this one this is the only manga I like because of plot and not because of the drawing. Otherwise I'm in love with her other current works with better drawings. This one has a great plot very cute.

i dont really care about the manga, but the anime ROCKS!!!!....check it out on youtube and i'm sure you'll love it!....less focus on relationships, but then, you just have to get tired of all those shoujo stuff after a while eh....the anime is more focus on the band, but the songs, the story, and everything else (including the art) is much much much livelier and better!!!! i love the anime biggrin !!!

ps: the manga is fine too, but i think that the story would've been much better without the overdose sex....2 much sex would lessen the meaning of it >_<

If you consider that it was done almost a decade ago and still an up to date content, it is a great story. Probably would be great if you could see the anime first, because it is based on the band not the girl as the manga is. Shinjo Mayu makes a good job drawing and not giving the image of an decade old manga. The problem notice for all is around the heroine, who is too naive and yes, too many times plain dumb, making the story tiring in certain moments. She is too much medieval woman, always depending on her knight to tell her what to do or waiting to be saved, never learning with her bad experiences. Not considering these details, I love this manga, and have the complete series, some volumes first edition, and never get tired of re-reading the great ones. I only wish that Shinjo-san could have explored more the other characters' life stories as the anime did a little. Anyways it is worth reading and meeting a gorgeous rock-star-knight: Sakuya Ookoshi and his yummy band mates.
