I was just wondering if there would be a manhwa/manhua genre so that if scanlation groups have korean/chinese translators, they would be able to find series to scanlate more easily.

I don't think that'd work as a genre in itself because generalizing would be hard, but I'd like to see something like the option of searching for completely scanned mangas, ongoing, oneshots, licensed and such.
Though I think I saw this suggestion before...

This has already been suggested.

Yes, this was already suggested before. But in contrast to the old suggestion, this one specifically exhort the introduction of manhwa and manhua as "genres".
Now, I completely oppose Da-manta-ray's suggestion simply because manhwa and manhua are not genres. They are delineative terms that are used to depict all forms of Korean and Chinese visual, narrative and semiotic sequential arts.
Saying that manhwa and manhua are genres is the same as saying that manga is also a genre and not an Eastern panel-based graphic medium of its own.
Now, I'm not against the suggestion of implementing a new categorization criteria to differentiate manga, manhwa and manhua (even though I personally consider such differentiation pretty unnecessary.) I'm just against the idea of listing such terms as genres for the reasons exposed before.
