I was thinking since we already have a music and games section in the forums that movies should be added as well. Pretty much it would have the same purpose as the music and games sections; discuss movies, your likes, dislikes, etc..

Hopefully everyone else likes and agrees with the idea 😀

I consider myself a big, big movie buff. I watch out for the good movies, from the small indie films to the huge blockbusters. But even I don't think movies should have its own section, I think we have too many already. I think we're diverting too much from the 'manga' part of mangaupdates. At the most we could combine all other media together: Movies/Music/TV in one section.

I like that idea better than the original idea.
I agree with Dr. Love. Just make a topic. Movie discussions come and go. If there is a movie section then people will post there just because there is another section to post in. Music lasts through the ages but only classic movies last for more than a month or two; the others are mostly forgotten.
Edit: I change my mind. I just don't like the reasoning behind making the movie section.

But! If we keep adding sections just because others were added the staff might start having the same problem as they have with the genres.

it would be nice, but it's getting away from what the site is

occasionally it would be nice to talk about them (it is my other obsession) but just adding them to music and games would be the best, for everyones previously stated reasoning.

Well it was only a suggestion. But a lot of the counterpoints made could be brushed aside just by saying what makes music and games bigger than movies.

But if that were to occur wouldn't it be pretty difficult to navigate? If they could find a way to keep it all organized then I say go with that. But if you're just going to throw it all together with tape then all you did was create "chatterbox 2"

I have never seen a song get talked about as more than a passing mention or a few minutes. Movies would last longer as people can compare there likes, dislikes, who did a good job acting, special f/x, so on and so forth. Sorry, I personally don't see someone talking about a song for an hour I have seen that happen with movies.

Actually that sounds like a good trial phase. I wont flood chatterbox with a bunch of topics, but I will start one and see where it goes
