Hi, I'm learning Japanese and there are a few manga series that I want to buy in Japanese so that I can continue my Japanese studies, but I'm not sure where I should buy them from, so can anyone recommend any online sites that sell Japanese manga? I know that you can buy manga from Amazon Japan and Yes Asia. Are there any other sites that are trustworthy? Which site is best? Thanks.

Akadot.com
Kinokuniya.com
benippon.com

I personally use Kinokuniya and Amazon JP but these three mentioned are very reliable, especially Kino.

bk1: http://www.bk1.jp/

It's pretty reliable, and it's probably one of the cheapest online Japanese book stores I've ever used . 😀

There's even a guide in English on how to use it here.

Still, bk1's in Japan, so you still need to pay a crazy amount for shipping if you're in the U.S., right?

I haven't yet bought anything in Japanese, but when I do if they have it I'll likely buy from kinokuniya since it's not especially expensive (probably about the same price as licensed manga published in U.S.).

I can't believe that http://www.yesasia.com hasn't been mentioned.

I, too, am learning Japanese. I own a whole bunch of volumes of my favorite manga in Japanese, and this site has proven to be reliable. It takes a while to ship, but the shipping is DIRT CHEAP. The packages I've ordered have always arrived safely and in excellent condition, even though it takes a few weeks. The manga itself (depending on the series, is also reasonably priced). I've tried BeNippon, but their shipping prices are painful. I hope this helped.

(it's in the topic starter's post)

Seconding Kinokuniya bookstore. <3 Their prices combined with shipping are reasonable.

Not really since they do offer a variety of different shipping methods including SEA (scroll down to the bottom of this page to see prices for SEA .

I think you could easily buy like 3 volumes from there for just a little over $20 (including shipping), which in my opinion is considered pretty cheap~ 😛

I agree with you that the shipping is dirt cheap and the packages always arrive safely. 😃
