im not sure how many other people do this- but whenever i read a new manga the cover/thumbnail art usually plays a big role in whether or not i decide to give it a shot
(you dont want to read something with bad art right?)

...ive noticed that from time to time ill find a manga that will have an amazing looking cover- but the actual art is just awful- or inversly that the cover is really ugly and unappealing and i give it a shot for the heck of it and find that the actual art is really good- completely different than the awful cover.

have you guys ever experienced this? if so what was the manga in question?

since im always looking for something new- and this is kind of a request section of the forum ill just rephrase it like this--
"can you guys recommend me some manga with a good story and fantastic art that has a cover that initially led you to believe that it wasnt going to be very good?"

im not a fan of horror, mecha, tragedy, harem, historical, or smut- so it would be cool if you would specify your 'recommendations'- however if you were just pointing out manga with decieving covers but dont think i would like them thats cool too. its a very interesting phenomenon
-- i know they say "dont just a book by its cover" but wtf man; thats what covers are for!

I read a few of those but what I read have a misleading/crappy/unappealing cover but the manga was very good and not unappealing as the cover makes it out to be. Some covers I still can't quite figure out what its connection is with the manga. I discarded alot of mangas I thought or reading because of an unappealing cover but later I find out that it is very good when I read it out of curiosity when I was bored. I would be thinking then what the hell is with the cover it isn't anything like the manga.

Not sure if this counts, but when I saw the image for Onepunch-Man on the website I mistook Genos (the cyborg in the picture) for being the protagonist...

At the time, the surprise was not very pleasant. Now however, I'm over it, and glad I read it anyway. 😃

Don't really know any good manga with particularly misleading covers since I judge more based on description and reviews. Hello Baby had the most ridiculous plot though (really bad), even though it's got an awesome cover ( artist from Death Note) 😔

Maybe Love Roma. It still doesn't have "fantastic art" even on the inside anyway, but the story is good.

Noblesse when the cover was this:

It has one of the most greatest artwork I have seen so far! Well, now it has good thumbnails (I try to update them as quickly as I can)!
