Haven't found such topic. It took me by suprise, because very often I see some other yaoi volume is one big fat cliche. If you would like to name favourite cliches, go ahead.

I'm not into Yaoi but the thing I hate bout its cliche is the seme dude moans when the uke dude touches him and then the seme dude feels so...aroused and gets teary eyed. this applies to shoujo smut as well.

Another yaoi cliche that I dislike is the meaningless sex without any plot or character/relationship developments...and overly bishie dudes with huge muscular chest and getting to see their balls..cough! O__O;;

Worst yaoi cliche is the "seme" and "uke" roles. They should all be seme AND uke. And the uke acts even more feminine (I don't know whether it's the correct word to describe this) than real women. His body is like a female body. It's always so easy for the seme to put his dick in without any lube. 😲 And cum can become lube. 😲

Another cliche is that there's no enough hentai-like hardcore yaoi titles around. Come on, yaoi authors, stop writing your cliches and write hentai instead. There are those of us who want something hard and funny like hentai instead of your crappy "love" stories. Even most hard yaoi is not as explicit as hentai. 😔 Unlike hermit-chan, I don't see enough clearly drawn balls and dicks. 😔 Yaoi smut is just like shoujo smut most of the time and very cliched.

There should be more male ecchi instead of the cliched smut. They should learn something from shounen/seinen manga but just make the girls guys. 😮

Also in yaoi when there's shota involved, why can't he be a seme? I want more shota seme!

I don't like seme and uke roles. I mean, I don't mind it as much when it's only a preference to either top or bottom positions but it's usually a girly, teary-eyed uke and overly domineering seme. Even their sex scenes are so cliche. Gawd, and I can't stand it when the size of the uke's penis is like the size of the seme's pinky 🤣 Why not make him into a girl?

Those girly little bottom boys. Ugh. If it looks like a girl, and acts like a girl, I don't see the appeal. Doesn't matter what junk it has. 😔

Apart from what you said, one cliche I absolutely hate is the possessive seme and the naive and wimpy uke. Don't we see enough of that kind of stuff in shoujo?

meh, the day Yaoi writers stop writing their love stories and start writing hentai style Yaoi with lots of meaningless sex, without any particular plot line or character building behind it, I will stop reading Yaoi!

don't get me wrong. I love smutty Yaoi and hardcore sex but without some decent story behind all those sex, every thing will become boring and plain after a while and I hate being bored. 🤣

Wouldn't it be good to have more variety for different types of readers? Those "love" stories are so cheesy and many of them look similar. There are just very few hardcore hentai-like yaoi titles, esp. those where everybody is seme and uke.

Not those saying "love" every two minutes without any reason or rape/forced love types, sorry. I actually HATE smut - no much difference from shoujo smut. I prefer some ecchi (similar to shounen/seinen manga's ecchi) instead. Not enough authors draw that.

Most uke's actually don't cry. Some of them can't even be described as "girly" since I don't know the correct word to use. They are just very submissive to the dominant seme's, without any sensible reason. Or they just act lacking common sense and very naive? 😔 I can stand girly uke's but I abusolutely hate dominant and possessive seme's. I skip anything with them.

I haven't read many with step siblings. I've only read one with that line (it was a very short one by Minase Masara so no much plot development). I didn't know there were so many of them around.

well, dear, it can be the dream of all Yaoi fan girls to see such a real show being done by their favorite artists but when it comes to tell a story, every genre has its own cliches, like hentai which is full of cliches, like big water melon boobs and horny girls who are ready to do it ANY WHERE and ANY TIME.

I can understand why you feel fed up with Yaoi love stories and believe me, I share your pain but when it comes to personal choice, I still prefer to watch two guys doing sex because they are in love not just because they are horny. yeah , I am quite romantic and soft in heart, sorry about that! 😀

I did find some hentai without big water melon boobs and some of the plots can be rather funny. Of course if you read too many you will find cliches. But they are good once in a while. At least they are straight-up without stupid disgusting stuff or annoying characters/situations like in shounen ecchi and shoujo smut (I am just saying for the ones I read). They should add more hot males into hentai and more gay action to have more variety. 😛

The fact that rape scenes will always end with the rapee falling inlove/justifying the raper's actions. Someone's going to counter with "it's not really rape if he's wiling," but I'm talking about the legitimate ones here. >:-(
