I prefer someone who'd do anything possible to achieve their goals. XD
But someone Ingenuous, and heartless would be cool too. =3

Where's the option for sexiness? The best protagonists are always hot chicks.

What about Not stupid? or not dense to the point of retardation?
"Never give up! Never surrender!" FTW
"“That's the difference between me and the rest of the world!
Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!” "
As long as it isn't the "'strong' heroine who, when it comes down to it, always needs to be saved" type, and the protagonist has at least one endearing or cool personality trait, I'm not that picky. But i prefer the strong-willed ones 😛

Unique. Cause I get tired of reading manga that has the same qualities in a character over and over again.
If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

EDIT: Well, I guess I like the idea of the protagonist losing once in a while, but with this mentality. And learn from their mistakes.

From the poll choices...
Either "Kind and honest" like Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket, or Heartless (cold?) like Kenji from Eden and Makoto Kubota from Wild Adapter.
Since I'd rather spend my nig.. quality time with the hearless type, being busy with making them blush.
And I generally enjoy the cold type better. The kind type can get annoying most of the time~
My choice would be heartless then.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.

I agree with not stupid or retarded. What about being mature with real sense of humor? Those characters are not that common in manga. We need more.

Someone who refuses to give up and kicks ass. i.e. Kei from Gantz He is so damn awesome. Sometimes I like the obnoxious and kinda baka type. i.e. Naruto, Luffy, Natsu (Fairy Tail).
Here's the type of protagonists I hate: The ones who act like everyone else is inferior, are quiet/reserved, and somewhat emo.
i.e. Sasuke (I hate him)

Emotionally weak/broken with lots of character development because you get to see them grow as a person and they usually already have or will develop traits that are like the other choices on the poll.

The cool part is that I never get tired of being deceived

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.

I love ultra-smart and looking-down-on-others type, and also the heartless, I-don't-care-about-anyone, but only if they show a tiny bit of niceness...
Someone like Lelouch, or Clare/Teresa (Claymore).
