So how do you read your manga? By chapters? By volumes? Or wait until the whole series is complete?
For me personally, I usually read by chapter (all those weekly things or waiting for the scanlators to release another chapter...)
Question: Most common reading method?
Choices:
Read each chapter as it comes out - votes: 6903 (72%)
Wait and read by volume (or a ton of chapters) - votes: 1588 (16.6%)
Start reading when the whole series is complete - votes: 1090 (11.4%)
There were 9581 total votes.

More like, however I happen to read them.
Sometimes I see there's a new chap and don't
read for 3 months, sometimes I read it right away.
So, my style would be random. I read when I feel
like it.

When they come out, I download them and leave them for later to read. So option 1 was the one I chose. : D

Mostly I'll save up a batch of chapters & read them all at once. I'm reading...I don't even know how many series, 100? 200? More? And it gets too confusing to read single chapters as they come out.
If it's a shorter series, 1-2-3 volumes, then I usually wait for the whole thing to be out before I read it.
For new series, I usually won't even start reading until at least a volume or two has been released - been hit too many times by having only 1-2 chapters released & then the group dies or whatever and that's all there is. 😔

It depends on the series. Most I'll just wait until it's completed, but a few I read whenever a new chapter comes out.

Yeah, random.
I just read when I feel like it.

Usually by chapters.
If the manga is one volume long, I'd usually wait for it to be complete so not to be left with cliffhangers.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

By chapters.
If the series is finished by the time I pick it up then, hell, even better.

why there isn't a "all of the above"
I LOVE TO READ completed series, because I don't have to wait for them and I stop whenever I want "IF I STOP" alnighters for the win ^^
I LIKE TO READ whole volumes, because I can digest a lot of plot at once.
I HAVE TO READ chapters as they come out, because there is no alternative --
So yeah, i like to read completed series, but tge most common reading method is either by chapter (something I dislike) or by volumes (something that I can stand)
so yeah, is very situational, but that doesn't change the fact that I like to read completed series, BUT that also doesn't change the fact that the most common reading method for me is to read as they come out.

I prefer reading by chapter as they come out.
At the moment I'm really behind on my manga, so I've ben having to do some batch reading though.

I try to avoid reading series that aren't complete. Sometimes I do happen to stumble on series that are ongoing and then I start reading them without waiting for them to be complete. If I loved it I read each chapter as it comes out, else I wait for it to release a volume or two so I can read for a while.
So mostly I wait and read by volume, the majority I read is completed, but that wasn't the question.

By the chapter.
Although, I really prefer completed series, I'm just not willing to wait. Besides, waiting for manga that only get updated monthly teaches me patience. XD

I've found that I like to read whole big chunks all at once, so I picked the second one. If the whole seires is finished, that's good too, but if it's really long, I end up reading it in chunks anyway (like 5 or 10 volumes at a time).
I don't like reading as the chapters come out, cause then you're stuck reading like one chapter, stop, wait a week, read another, stop, wait a week, ad infinitum. You read a little tidbit, and then you have to wait to find out what happens next; it interupts the train of thought. That sucks.
Plus, if I did that, I'd end up reading a few dozen series concurrently, meaning I'd have to switch gears all the time (that interupts the train of thought too), which would be a pain.
It's so much more enjoyable to be able to read one story the whole way through at one time.
Edit: I nearly forgot about 4koma; they're the exception. For 4koma, I don't mind only reading a chapter at a time as they are released.

It depends on the series. There are some that I'll read as each chapter comes out, but I like reading them all at once, so most of the manga on my complete list I read all at once.
