Tsukiyo no Fromage is about a boy who has a very strange dream where he was on a date with the heroine of a game he'd just bought when a young girl collapses nearby, going to attempt helping her, she unexpectedly kisses him and his dream ends. When he wakes up, he's not in his own bed, but in the bed of the girl who kissed him, and he's taken the form of the heroine of his game!

It's got an intriguing story so far and the art is just gorgeous. Our goal for this project is more to localize the manga to a western audience than doing necessarily a direct translation. We're replacing sfx with western equivalents, westernizing the Japanese concepts, but keeping the integrity of the story intact.

We currently have someone scanning in raws from Volume 1 that he's imported, and a Chinese translator working on translating from Chinese scans found online. There's portions of the script that the Chinese didn't translate, and also, more than one explanation makes my job of editing easier, so we're wanting a Japanese translator as well. My own job is cleaning, editing, and inserting the finished script and sfx. Currently, I'm also doing the Japanese translations as necessary, putting a quite heavy strain on me. I want to definitely put the Japanese translation on someone elses shoulders, but I'm not letting it stop us from getting started.

If your area of expertise is in typesetting, aka, inserting the finished script and sfx, then we might want your help too... you do need to be able to demonstrate ability with not only the speech bubbles, which are easy enough, but also making the sfx look good when being put directly into the panels... this is necessary because the manga has almost no white space between panels, ranging from zero in some places to barely enough to fit a plus sign, definitely no room for readable text.

I've uploaded a demo of the direction I'm taking with this project. These are NOT final, they are only to serve to demonstrate what we're trying to do here and try to spark interest in joining us. There are two images for each page, the Chinese scan used, and the "completed" page in English.

Speaking from experience,most sfx do not carry much meaning and take too much time to edit properly to justify the effort.

Even if its deemed necessary,it should remain discrete(not sticking out like a sore thumb).The untranslated script is text that is usually found in magazine raws.They do not appear in official tankunbon raws.It's usually printed upfront as a brief character intro or as an omake.

I've read the manga before,and from what I see from the demo pages,the chinese scanlators were sensible in everything they did,with the exception of the horrible raw quality.You should be asking for an expert on photoshop instead.

We now have a website, and I'm still working on the forum.

The guy who was going to be my scanner had to bail because he found out the scanner he thought he was going to use had too low of dpi to produce good scans, so we're now also looking for a scanner before we can even start putting anything out.

Until I get a recruitment board done on the forum, you'll still have to email me if you're interested in joining us.

EDIT: we have a typesetter, so just need a Japanese translator for stuff that wasn't translated by the Chinese/is in the volumes only and of course a scanner. (Or just HQ raws from the volume, if you don't want to officially be one of us.)

EDIT 2: I bought a scanner, and my copy of Volume 1 is on it's way, so I'll be able to do scans... if I have to. Still would rather have an official scanner if anyone would be up to it.
