So my friend told me that Taiga got knocked up by Ryuji. At first I thought he was messing with me since I didn't bother to finish the anime, until I saw this article. Is this in the actual light novel, and am I the only who is disturbed by this?

I take it you've never played a visual novel before.
It's a game, typically a dating sim. Non-canonical. Think of it as some sort of interactive doujin. You can even get endings where Ryuuji doesn't end up with Taiga but with Minori or Ami instead.

Well it's not that I've never played a visual novel before (tsukihime was pretty good actually), but I still find it disturbing that they would impregnate Taiga who has the body of basically a 12 year old. 
Only look ok?
