How would you like your anime adaptations to be? Something exactly the same like Suzuka? Same general plot, but with some new and great content (as in a GOOD filler)? Totally different story, like Full Metal Alchemist? Or you don't really like anime anyways and you think it's a lost cause?
Or anything in between!
Question: How would you like the anime adaptation of a manga series? Choices: The exact same, just animated - votes: 6275 (49.6%) Same general plot, but with some good, new content - votes: 5283 (41.8%) Different plot so that it's not repetitive - votes: 371 (2.9%) No anime for me - votes: 711 (5.6%) There were 12640 total votes. The poll ended: October 24th 2009

Quote from EternalNightmare Same but better... like that's gonna happen =P Hey, it can happen. I consider School Rumble, Ouran High School Host Club, Black Lagoon, Hajime no Ippo and RAVE anime better than their manga counterparts.

I consider Ouran High School Host Club anime better than their manga counterparts. Yes o.o; I tried picking up the manga from where the anime ended and I was like WUT. Didn't like the manga.
Though the manga for Ghost Hunt seems 10x better than the anime.
I'm all for the same but better Having a completely different plot makes me rage, and what's the point of it being 100% the same?

I think Rosario+vampire is a good example of why a series should follow the plot of the manga, Instead of useless ecchi. I would have hoped to see some cool battles.(tsukune should not be such a wuss)

Succeeding with adding new content that's actually *good* is simply too rare to be worth the risk imo. Guaranteed new good content, who would say no to that... but we're not living in an utopia, are we? I'd rather they stuck close to the original. ^^

The exact same, just animated. Prefered with better artwork, like in Ouran High school.

I'm in between the first one and second one. : D I like it exactly the same, some new content (comedy fillers), just animated.
Edit: Ack! I didn't word it right, I want: exactly the same plot, some new content (like, funny things that isn't included in the manga), just animated (I just want to see the characters moving for real). There. That makes more sense.
Edit 2: I like fillers that explain some mysteries on the manga, I also like one-episode side story fillers (just for fun).

Call me naive, but I wish that authors, in the process of reviewing their manga(to make the script for anime), would actually take time to find out what readers want(ed) to see in the story and not just follow popularity trends. Maybe half of the butchered stories out there could at least earn respect they deserved. I like anime, however if script writers are not sure what will be good for the story they better leave it as is.

I like it when its just the same, like Hajime no Ippo. Now that was a good anime, it followed the story and for a sport manga seing it animated nicely just makes it feel new.
Adaptations like Naruto and Bleach where they add uneraleted stuff, I just feel like its a waste of my time and it tarnishes a otherwise good/decent story.

I'm going to have to go for the same.
Although, new content isn't too bad because it makes it a little different. New 'anime characters only' though is a no no.

Quote from Yenoh I'm in between the first one and second one. : D This is exactly how I feel. Sometimes an anime adds new content that's actually good (Like giving character development to someone that gets none whatsoever in the manga, or they add things in the anime that only appear in the extra pages of the tankoubon), but other times the anime adds things that don't need to even be there in the first place.

Some fillers are acceptable, like in the most recent episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
I like funny fillers that go off on random tangents.
What I hate is when these fillers last like 10 episodes. Get that mess out of here.

Either its the exact same, or it shouldn't exist at all. I can accept good fillers if it is an anime that doesn't really have an end in sight (like One Piece) However, seeing as though I'm not a fan of anime adaptions, I chose 'No Anime.'
