I'm tired of the rescue-me-since-I'm-weak-girl types in mangas. I prefer reading about women who can kick butt like a man! My favorite so far is Julia from Rave Master (does anybody read this manga?) Julia seriously is beautiful and can fight to death. I also like Lenalee from D-Grey Man (does anybody also read this manga?) Sure, she may cry a lot but she's a awesome combat fighter. Anybody have any manga suggestions?

Try Tokyo Crazy Paradise, Tsukasa's one tough chick. 😀 Yankumi of Gokusen also comes to mind, and though the lead in Basara has her girly moments she's also quite a fighter.

Besides the ones aready mentioned, Black God has a pretty strong main female character. Oh, and Yawara is about a girl who is one of the best in judo. Finally, there's a really good anime I'm watching right now that has a legendary spear user. The title is Seirei no Moribito. Btw, I also vote for Claymore.

Hot Blooded Woman <- The girl acts like a mule. She can be quite strong, but she's also thick as two bricks. It could be entertaining... if you're into that kind of thing.

Yankumi is awesome.

GUNNM and Vulgar ghost daydream are both good examples. The leads are both strong women, but at the same time have feelings and such too. They aren't just Stereotypical male characters w/ boobs.

I like series where female characters can be strong and at the same time be saved in the stereotypical princess peach way, like rukia from bleach. Keeps things fresh.

Ran from Detective Conan? Sure it wasn't a fighting manga, and sure she didn't fight a lot. Luckily it was just about the people that can kick butt like a man. She has stopped people plently of times. Just felt I should mention her since she isn't such an obvious choice with all the other fighting manga that have women in it.

what ya mean, Like negi's top chicks Asuna, Setsuna, Kaede, Fei and Mana or the chain saw swinging Hime of princess resurrection (see anime Kaibutsu Oujo). going back the tuff ones in love hina give a good hit the guy.
