I remember reading about this girl who wore kimonos and danced traditionally a lot, with her father...
But some random guy showed up in their little 'village' and found out that the girl's father abused her and that same guy got stabbed in the back with a sword or something?
It was a pretty weird story, but I'm pretty sure it was historical.
