Sorry if this suggestion has already been given

I was wondering if it is possible to have checkboxes for rest of the options rather than having radio buttons.

While it doesn't matter for licensing options it would be great if one could select the types, list options and extended options

Type : Atm we can select either everything or just one type. It would be nice if we are able to select a couple of types.

Extended : Similar to above suggestion.

List options : It would be great if there were options to rather "exclude those on a particular list than include."

I guess all the above would be made easy with include and exclude options like the ones done for Genre.

Bug : Dunno whether this has been mentioned but I am getting Series of Genres that I have excluded. Atm I can only find "Escape" it lists as Hentai and Shotacon in the results but on the Series page there is no Genre included. On top of that I never included Shotacon and hentai in my Search ( rather it was in the exclude )

Overall, I am very happy with the advanced genre page, but only have one simple usability suggestion:

A simple button to check ALL excluded genres. Many of the searches I do start off by me checking exclude on ~30 exclude boxes, where it would be faster to just exclude all first with a single click, and then check/uncheck 5-6 of them.

Its useful to exclude all genres you plain don't like (~20 for me) and ones you don't want to see in this search (~10); so with this you end up with only having clicking ~5 times to modify to make those includes/optional; this type of searching lets you sort by ranking and find lower ranked manga that get buried in more general (longer) searches.

((manga are generally only going to have a few genre tags, so obviously it doesn't make much sense to make a button for a button to check all included genre))

REGARDING the BUG:
I have noticed that recently as well:

I believe its not specific to the genre search ... maybe a database problem?

So no criticism to the suggestion or no one bothered ? none

Edit :

I dunno whether this has been suggested or not.
I was wondering if it was possible to assign keywords to each series and make keyword search available in the Advanced Search or any Search Section.

This would make it a lot easier and also help people a lot rather than making new threads in I'm looking for.

While some Searches like particular Art type cannot be done using Keywords but I am pretty sure it will lift the load off many generic searches like Manga's with Incest, yakuza, Older girl etc.

Seconded.
I was trying to search for only completed scanlated series and found it very bothersome searching through 50 pages of series when oneshots are included...and is it really necessary to include oneshots when you are just searching for manga with at least one release? I mean, that's what the "Only show one shots" option is for, right? .__.

And ya, I'd like to search for genre(s) in more than one list.

And the keyword suggestion has been suggested many times already, I believe the reply was a no? Not quite sure...O_O

"And...how do we choose which key words to use, and who will do it for every series in the database?"
the above quote is from lambchopsil to the same suggestion.

I understand that due to the span of the current database it would be almost impossible to cover all Series and hard to maintain consistency but I believe unless some one is simply trying to screw around this can be managed.

Tag words/ keywords can be made like a simple section in the Series Description page like manga recommendations.
People who wish to add a word can follow the same porcedure as editing a part of the description.

Reviewers can be given a choice to add tags to their reviews which automatically updates the keyword section. Since Reviews are moderated consistency can be maintained.

Also this can be handed over to Scanalation Team members. Of course in this case there must be a way of identifying that person is a member team.

In short this can cover most of the Scanalated Series but non one's may not be. But it wont matter much as people in most cases search only for scanalated one's.

Regarding how do we choose which key words to use
We can leave this to the users for most part. Incorrect Tags can be easily corrected just like Series Descriptions are edited and moderated. Certai restrictions can be put like
- it should be a single word
- no special characters
- maybe no numbers etc

Well, this is just a small solution to lamb's quote smile

Thirded. I've split things out into around 20 different lists. Trying to search for something in them one list at a time is a huge PITA.
