Fate has turned the book to stone once, and that didn't destroy it. I think it's the same this time: he only destroyed the instance of the artifact, and all that was recorded in it. On the other hand, it seemed like he summoned it, too, so I cannot be sure.

Well, I doubt that The magic world is pure illusion.
I think The concept of magical world is not an illusion world, it's merely a vassal.

So here's my... what would you call it o-0...
The Life maker is the one who create the magical world using mars as it's catalyst. That's why he's called the magician of beginning (or something like that). Yet, even if he can create the world (in this case I take it as a body), he wouldn't able to create the soul which resident in the body, that way he takes some people (mage) from the old world (earth) to the mars (which he already convert to magical world or the new world)

Being the creator of the body, he could manipulate it as he please, the reason Nagi able to defeat him maybe because he is from the old world (earthling - also maybe since when he is 10 years old, he was the winner of mahora battle or what-) so his body somehow immune to The lifemaker cheat magic against the martians, or maybe the lifemaker cheats just was not strong enough to create the same catasthrope as it is today.
That will works on Negi too, He will be able to face The lifemaker because eventough his mother is from new world, he is born on earth and his body nurtures by the earth, makes him earthling who uses old world magic.

So here is the deal, old world magic (those girls from mahora's magic) works on Cosmo Entelecheia because Cosmo Entelecheia itself is the lifemaker's magic which also have a cheats against new world magic but not against old world magic - or maybe to be precise magic that comes from earthling.

The reason the higher ups of magician worlds attack negi's village is because they wants to separate mage and non mage to martian and earthling - or maybe the lifemaker wants to erase anybody who will have the ability to defeat him (in this case those whose body is not martian)

The meaning of erasing is actually "deleting" the vassal where the soul resides - eventough the spell is "rewrite" looks like it's not rewriting it's existence since the other people memories about the rewrited person still remains. Without body, even the soul will not able to have exact existence, as if it's a wandering ghost. So Rankan is not dead -yet- it's just that his body disappear, he could show up one more time in front of Negi because what you call spirit or determination or what.
What Nodoka means with bring everybody back is recreating the vassal where the soul resides. in this case even when all of magical world destroyed, using the grand master key, they could recreate the magical world, and put all soul backs in it's body, continuing their life until the soul is expired (natural dead).

well, that's just my assumptions, it might be off very far from what will show ups, since there's still many missing links like why Dynamis not allowed to kill earthling while Fate is, or what is Asuna's real power, or why fate wants to destroy the magical world, etc etc.

but wait, why did Cachamaru needs to adeat-ing her pactio card to operate it while she get the neko-sat from Chao Bao Zhi?

Separation of body and soul is an interesting concept. Since the... "martians"... can make pactios, the presence of a soul is pretty much defined.
While that explains how they can be erased and brought back, it still doesn't cover the mooks' immunity to their magic, though; further details on metaphysics (how magic functions, etc.) are required.


The sat is her artifact, she didn't have it before the pactio (it was supposed to be in Chao's lab, or on Earth's orbit, now it is above Mars, and phase-shifted into a parallel world of sorts).
It just means that one of Chao's inventions was deemed worthy of a place among the "ultra-rare" (by the Magic World's standards) magic tools created throughout history by those spirits that Negi persuaded in "Kiss-Kiss Carnival part 3".

Anyone else thinks Kotaro is going to get OWNED for Natsumi to use her artifact?

I don't. He's accompanied by Setsuna and Kaede so I doubt things would come to that.
Also, Natsumi's artifact shouldn't be that strong as Kotarou is nowhere near Negi or Konoka in terms of magical capacity. I'm still unsure about the Pactio system's dependencies, though, so I may be wrong.
