O_O Ohai there~

I voted the last option too. It's okay. ;-;

Do you feel like school has actually ever been useful to you? 🤨 Does it serve no other purpose than to torture and bore us?!! An ancient question~ I'm referring to mostly HS and below, but University can teach you some pretty useless stuff too. 🤣

I don't think that HS really helped me in being more independent. o.o I still didn't mind it as much though. I actually wish I was still in HS. ;-; Stupid uni... grumbles You get to know lots of interesting trivia in school! And it trains your brains, that's good! It also teaches you to be a mindless sheep of the masses. 🤣 Although some good teachers advise you to be skeptical of everything, including what they say. >:3 thumbs up for them I only fully got what they meant 'till now. O_O

schools are mostly a waste of time in the academic dept, cuz kids dont choose what they learn. its mostly for the socials experiments, academics come later, after u finish school, and choose a path in life.

Well, it's useful, you get to learn some stuff you wouldn't learn otherwise, and maybe find something you like 🤣 Useful or not, it's there 🤣

You see what people are like with school now.

It would be 10 times worse without it 🤣

School's a good way to socialise anyway.
Although there are some topics that you just won't use in real life (Like trigonometry), it's still useful to learn the basics and stuff.
The only reason why people hate education is because of those goddamn exams that just shape your future. If you're having a bad day when your exam comes, that's it your screwed. It's just so unfair ;__;

But I'm voting for the last option because I don't like any of the other choices 🤣

I'm planning on being a computer scientist when I grow up, so I do need things like trig, calculus, and coding classes which I'm taking in highschool. I think part of the reason people think they don't learn anything in school is that it happens so gradually (took me til grade four for the concept of "oh they are teaching us things to make us smarter" sunk into my head and I indeed thought it was just like a day job for kids to waste our time), but you do end up learning. When I look back at my grade one self who thought Egypt and Russia were next to each other I think school allowed me to progress alot. Even assuming your future has no need of such knowledge and your essentially earning a useless slip of paper, school is useful in other respects. I look at school like martial arts, the benefit in doing it isn't in the content of the knowledge itself per se, but in the mental discipline you achieve by striving for a goal under specific circumstances.

On an less eloquently worded note; I learned was a vagOOO and a pOnOs was in school, now I get all the pornographic doujins I read 😀 , and if we stop becoming smarter, then video game progress will come to a halt. 😔

Not really, I taught my sister math, geography, history, etc and she is the best of her class "now", and she thinks most of the stuff she is being taught is a waste of time, because she either knows it already, or is completely useless.

I have an odd personality, because i taught her and tested her with real life situations and not just a piece of toilet paper, and her rewards weren't good marks or grades, but with stuff she really wanted, example: I taught her the importance of fractions, by telling her with one she wanted 1/4 of the chocolate bar or 1/8.

Thanks to that she is a free thinker and often thinks outside the box, she may not be a genius that learns everything in a few hours, but I taught her the importance of relating her new knowledge to real life in order to see the importance and learn faster.

If parents had the time to personally teach their children (and the will to do so) schools wouldn't be needed at all, at least the basic grades... High school, college and universities are another thing.

yawn a good way to wake up 🙂

and just where did you , or the parents for that matter, learn that stuff? at school ofcourse!
😉
we wouldn't know how to read if it weren't for school , so yeah; it's amazingly useful.

School is very useful, but its only as useful as the people involved really. Teachers who don't teach or students who don't want to learn just make Schools seem like a joke. I was personally in a school which Teachers knew what to teach and students were 'mostly' attentive enough to learn.

I don't personally like A Levels, I did a different Examination Board which had taught me so much more than A Level students, firstly the majority of A Level students in my Chemical Engineering class know nothing about PROPER lab write-ups and citations, the level of Maths, Physics and Chemistry is also lower than mine. The result? A Level students in my course care very little about the education they are getting, and I personally struggled all the way with my Examination Board which made me value education so much more.

I believe Education has only been undervalued because people are getting straight As and think what they are doing is irrelevant. What you really need to do is make it so people fail and get Bs and Cs, you only learn from mistakes and criticism, getting As just make you complacent and undermine the education you are getting. Students need to know early on in life that education is an example of the survival of the fittest. Why exactly?

Education is fundamentally the teaching of how to survive, if you looks at indigenous cultures you don't get schools you instead get adults teaching children how to hunt, cook and build shelter. Basically what the children are being educated to do is to survive in the environment they are in. We on the other hand are in a completely different environment, and environment at which qualifications and skills are mandatory to earn a living.

I end my rant for today. 🙄

Erm, you should try to understand what people mean first and then read again what you wrote, because that isn't a good way to wake up 🤣

sometimes the material is useful, other times it takes up precious memory space and gets tossed soon after the class ends.
