I remembered my ex-bestfriend once complaining about how she apologizes even when it is the other persons fault.

Example: Someone bumps into you, you say sorry. (Even though it was their fault)

She said it was bad and that she needed to stop. Some nonesense about putting the self second.
Personally I say sorry all the time. And I'm very sincere each time.
I'm so nice to strangers.

On the other hand I find it hard to admit that I'm wrong.

So kind people:
What is your stance on apologizing? When will you do it and when will you not?

I always apologize, even if it's not my fault, even if I'm right, if it hurts someone else's feelings. It's no big deal, I mean I know I'll get over my pride and embarassment eventually, but I have no way of knowing if the other person will be able to move on, and I wouldn't ever want to be the cause of someone else's distress. I mean that's if it's serious. If someone bumps into me I always apologize too though, I'm always saying "oh' I'm so sorry" sometimes I run into poles though, and a turn around and start apologizing... then I look crazy..... I can't think of a time I wouldn't apologize, I'd have to be seriously pissed, and I can't even remember the last time that happened. I didn't even get mad when someone ran into my car and jumped out and started cussing me out. Hm.. I think the last time I got angry was when some guy tried to attack my friends and me, if it was just me I probably wouldn't be angry, but It wasn't just me and he had it coming.

In ur friend's situation I think it is ok to be modest and admit that u r wrong even when u r not. Probably u will not meet that person again and u do not lose anything when u apologize. That only proves that u r polite.
I do apologize when I do st wrong. But if st important related I will have to make everything clear. It is very dangerous if sb plot u and u don't do anything or don't even know.

I usually apologize, even when I'm not at fault. There was this one time though, where it was partially my fault and partially my friend's fault but she got mad and started bitching at me, acting as if I was the only one wrong, even before I got to apologize... so I didn't apologize in the end. =w=

Ah now this depends in what mood I'm in, and just who I'm saying sorry to.

If it's my friends, family, basically people I know well, I'll say sorry for nearly all incidents, both parties usually do.
However, if I'm walking in the corridors and some kid bumps into me, I don't say sorry. I've had kids run into me, stop in front of me to have a chat with their friends blocking my pathway...I'm not saying sorry to them if I bump into them. If it's my own fault because I'm not looking where I'm going, fine. But if it's them being idiots stopping in front of me so suddenly, I give them a glare and tell them to move.

I have no patience for the kids in the lower school. I'm blunt with them.

If it's a stranger in the street, I'll say sorry without hesitation.

I apologize a lot.. *__*

I apologize more often to people I'm not that acquainted with. When I'm familiar with people, I won't really apologize that much. It also depends on the situation. I'm not the type to get into a serious dilemma. The things I apologize for is bumping or imposing on someone.

I don't think saying "Sorry" when you bump people on the streets counts as apologizing, it's more of a "being polite" thing. And no, I don't apologize that much, even if I'm at fault. laugh

If I'm at fault, I'll apologize.
It's only natural.

I don't even apologize when I should. I have too much pride.

I'm prideful too! D:

And if I can tell that we're at an impasse and the other person obviously doesn't want to apologize, then I do it first. I don't see the big deal in it and I do honestly mean it. In an argument, both people are to blame anyways, so it's not like it's a fake apology just to make them shut up, if you know what I mean. D;

Lol.
It's not like I lack pride, myself.
I just swallow it and move on~
Better than not apolozing and looking like an ass...

I've been doing it for so long that it's become rather easy.
Maybe I have lost my pride?

If I bump into someone on accident, I will say sorry.

If I bump into someone that's in the way, fuck 'em.

Example, someone is sitting on the stairs that I'm walking up. I then see a large group of kids soon to walk down the stairs that I am 3/4 of the way finished. I move around the girl sitting on the stairs and bump into the group of incompetent brats that created a wall in which no one could pass.
Seriously, larger groups of people need to remember that individuals do not have to stop and let the large group pass. They need to make room and not block passage ways.
