Boycott of American published manga! Support the scanlation of unlicenced manga!

Please spread the word! I have been seeing site after site shut down due to the threat of a possible lawsuit. Manga sites have been very compliant with American publishers, removing licensed manga series when asked.
I myself know that the only reason I have bought so much manga, is because I have previously read them and wanted to give my support to the good manga that American publishers choose!
Seeing these sites shut down is heart breaking, let us protect our history and culture online.

do you REALLY think everyone is exactly like you, reading the series online and then buying them? do you really think that a good chunk of the community isn't made up of people reading online only because it's quick and and free, inconsiderate of the the publisher's, and in turn, the author's well being? did you know, since the online reader boom in '07/'08, US publishers suffer a great blow as sales dropped by 15% in '08, and then 20% in '09, with two big companies filing bankruptcy, and in japan, a historic 6.6% drop in sales, prompting this crisis?
did you know that japanese publishers never liked the idea of scanlation, even the unlicensed ones? did you know to them, scanlation of unlicensed material hinders any plans they would have on making to bring these unlicensed materials to the foreign market? did you know the only reason why some scanlators do unlicensed material is because the japanese publishers couldn't get their hands on them since their jurisdiction was limited within their country, something that is now possible for them thanks to the US-Japan publisher coalition?
now did you know that these sites brought it among themselves on getting shut down? did you know that scanlators prior to the online reading boom warned us about the repercussions of online reading that the community population will rise by folds eventually grabbing unneeded attention from legal officials? did you know our "history and culture" was safe and sound years ago with a smaller community, keeping it all at a rather low profile?
did you know, the disappearance of online readers isn't a big impact on the community, as scanlations will still be available? did you know we can still download and read these scanlations elsewhere? did you know downloading via irc isn't all that hard anymore thanks to xdcc bots most scanlation groups employ? or that they also have download links to chapters on their sites and forum? did you know if you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, and if you teach a man to fish he'll eat for a lifetime, hence the long term usefulness of taking a 20 or so minutes crash course on downloading via irc?
