Ever wonder why girl otakus never try to find guy otakus? ^^ A women who could sit back, chill, and watch anime with me would be a dream come true (trust me I've dated girls who hated it >.< my last was a girl from Okinawa). I've met a ton but they never seem to go for other otakus of the other sex so I just wanna know why this is. =P So I started this poll to try to find out what are we doing wrong?

Lol im pretty sure they discussed this on Lucky Star, but i would also LOVE a person of the opposite sex (female) sitting next to me watchign anime with me... that would be a dream come true, liek you said... so im interested in this alot too -.-"

I can't think of a way to answer your poll right now... admittedly I'm more of an otaku than my boyfriend, but we met through the forums on a manga site... he's an otaku, but... I know I outdo him in otaku-ness...
<.< Personally, I'm quite glad he enjoys anime, manga etc and watches it/reads it with me. I think it'd be lonely if he didn't.

But... maybe the girls... see themselves and don't want to be with themselves? So they don't want to be with an otaku, if they want to be with someone at all? I theory I suppose...

To be honest, I want an Otaku girlfriend (And perhaps, later on, wife). I honestly don't see myself with any other person. So, the replies in this will be quite interesting to me.

Well my opinion is that they think themselves to be quite nerdy, or look at MALE otaku's as the clich'e types.. .the obese, pimply braces nerds? Or it could be that we may have a twisted personality to begin with... 🤢 hehe but theres nothign wrong with me... i hope 😛

Well I'm a girl so maybe I shouldn't be saying this.

Girls tend to love romantic crap, otaku or not. The idea of watching anime all day all the time well it just doesn't sound very romantic. Might as well do it with a "guy friend" then a "boyfriend".

There are only guys anwering this thread. xD

Yeah I feel ya I've been asking myself this question since I started high school and hell im still asking it 7 years after finishing it. /sigh To bad things didn't work out with my last ex she hated anime even if she was from Japan ^^.

@E-chan52 - Im don't think all guys are like that I tend to hide the fact that I am an otaku when people visit my apartment there normally shocked how much of a dork I am. ^^

I've dragged a few guys to watch anime with me. They sorta liked it too, either that or they're just being polite... but yea, never gone out with an otaku guy. It would be nice to know one, but it's not a requirement for me at all.

the word "otaku" is whats bothering me, but i dont have a problem with a guy who interested in manga/anime, and watching it together all day sounds like quite a nice way to have fun ^_^
tho currently, ill be happy with any guy below 25 who doesnt act like a damn player....

I've seen many and know many otaku couples. It's a wonderful way for them to still have something in common with each other that is always changing and always fresh and new in SOME way or another.

My boyfriend prefers Western comics and cartoons, but he enjoys some anime, although he doesn't read any manga. But I chose him purely because he's a bonafide bishounen! 😛 And I have opened his eyes to a lot of anime he loves, like Bleach and Hellsing. So it's nice to talk to him about anime sometime 🙂

I guess I would date an Otaku if he was fun to be with 🙂 And cute! 😛
And didn't smell. Must not smell bad! Major turn off!
