Hey, all. Still new to these forums, but one thing i'm not new to is Fanfiction, or as i call it, Fanon. However, i think i'm scraping the barrel on quality pieces, and i've read enough crap.

I need a outlet to develop my writing skills and for them to stablize before i get back to true writing. Fanon is a risk-free outlet for that, and it's amusing to see people's spin on a series. Like an opinion projected in writing.

I have found some fanfiction that are actually better than the series they're based off of. But honestly, it took me digging through a lot of garbage before finding the gem.

Sometimes I wonder if I should go back to fanfiction to improve my writing skills. But you have the right idea there! 🙂

I have some fics that truly disappoint me. This was about 4 years back so my writing style has changed drastically and I still have room for improvement. I'm glad I still write FF on occasion because it was good practice on grammar and spelling (I did this mostly without a beta). I don't update as often from lack of inspiration or because of my schoolwork but I don't think I'm a good writer or terrible to have you wondering what the heck is going on. Even if some stories really aren't well written, there are some out there that leave me craving for more chapters. Fanfiction is personal.

wow! somebody made a thread about fanfic!! so is it alrighty if i post my story here.. its still ongoing though.. but each chapter is about a certain character so individualish.. and its not anime fanfic its based on snow white.. so i hope somebody reads it and reviews!!! 😀

Just because someone thinks something is pointless doesn't mean it is. --
I admit, there are a ton of shitty writers on FF.net. However, bumping the size up to 100k Words+ usually filters out the remainder of the crap.
Just gotta find the good ones.
Remember, not all manga is good either.
Take the good from the bad, and run with it.
