Well I was just wondering what your favorite mangaka is and why. I dont mind if you have more than one. I do too.
Fujiwara Cocoa - I like her art and she has awsome stories.
Tooyama Ema - She has such pretty art and her stories are okay
Yukimaru Moe - Again, pretty art
Haruta Nana - Traditional shoujo mangaka
Ichikawa Shou - She writes such cute one - shots
Shiraishi Yuki - Your regular super corny mangaka
Chiba Kozue - Nice melodramatic writer
Toma Rei - Awsome art
Sakuraga Mei - The best yaoi writer I know of
Tsukimiya An - They have good stories
Tsukuba Sakura - Such cute art
Morinaga Ai - She comes up with good characters
Shouoto Aya - I loved Barajou no Kiss
Sato Zakuri - I really liked Neiro in obaka
btw its not in order of my favorite and I dont really hate any mangakas
wait, i changed my mind. i hate peach pit. shugo chara had good art but the worst ending ever. it didnt even resolve the love triangle, not even in the sequel....

Eichiro Oda: for the epic One Piece
Urasawa Naoki: for 20th Century Boys
Inagakii Riichiro: for Eyeshield 21
Yagi Norihiro: for Angel Densetsu [not Claymore XD]
Kio Shimoku: for Genshiken
Limits are there to be ignored and be broken eventually by someone else
-Kyon, Live A Live, The Wavering of Suzumiya Haruhi
in today's world, if you're not moe, you can't get a decent job

There are more great ones of course but the first one that comes to mind is:
Amazume Ryuta - Nana to Kaoru, Happy Negative Marriage
The character development and depth of the characters is amazing and often fleshed out in a very short time without feeling rushed - it's unrivaled with anything else I have seen. The art style is certainly distinct and realistic but it can easily switch and combine fairly realistic drawings with distorted drawings without it seeming forced.
Read 1 chapter of Nana to Kaoru or Happy Negative Marriage and you'll have a better idea what I am talking about - you'll understand a bit more even if it's not your cup of tea.
Lol, should be posted in "manga general"... but... isn't this the same?
Anyway, my favorite is Miwa Shirow... um... and probably others. 😛 He's just the one that sticks out the most~

You are like the dense main character in a shoujo manga.

Yeah, I was about to say that as well.

Oh! Great for the super awesome Air Gear. And yeah, I know it looks like he's on crack when he writes his stories but come on, his art makes me orgasm.
Tite Kubo for his cinematic panneling and portrayal of personality. I love Aizen's incomparable ego.
Masashi Kishimoto for creating Orochimaru. This speaks for itself. Lol.
The creator of Genshiken for making such a seemingly stupid story plot work out so good.
Takeshi Ohbata for his great drawing style and fashion sense.
Tsutomu Nihei for his ability to use little dialogue and yet say so much.
And some others whose names I can't recall
