well i for one would love it.....this is one of the best stories in this genre i have seen
doesnt drag on even a little bit
ties up all the loose ends
definte and conclusive happy ending
no mindless echhi.......though we are treated to samidare's panties occasionally

i did not like the manga
its rather dull
lots of very uninteresting characters
nonsense plot
so i do not like the idea of animating it

Dull? A manga about a giant biscuit hammer in the sky and a girl who wants to punch the earth until it explodes is dull and uninteresting? Sure, the plot is "nonsense", but is it any more nonsense than "bunch of guys in black tights who shout stuff while waving swords and reap souls"? Or "An egghead in a bright orange jumpsuit who's supposed to be a master ninja"? Its fiction (and fantasy fiction at that), of course its gonna be "nonsense". You want gritty or realistic, go try that Viking manga.
With that outta the way - this manga series would make a great anime series. It has plenty of action/comedy to placate the shounen demographic, and because its of a reasonable length, the story and characters don't wear out on you (a problem that longer running series like Naruto/Bleach tend to face). Hoshi no Samidare set off with a well defined ending in mind, and it fills up every available moment between its start and finish with well written scenes, good comedy and top notch character development.
Still, I doubt any animation studio is going to pick it up anytime soon. These days, its vastly more profitable to animate a generic moe blob title with plenty of lolis (and perhaps a mahou shojo or three) and then swim in the revenue that the merchandise will produce.

My thoughts exactly! Very well said.
I love this manga. It's my 2nd favorite of all the mangas I read. Unfortunately I know that what you said about the low possibility of animating it is true. I just wish that this would get licensed!!
WHY THE HELL ISN'T THIS LICENSED?!
I'd buy every volume.

i would love to see this as an anime.... BUT! they would have to make it as close to the manga as possible including the blood and injuries and trauma otherwise it would take away from the awesomeness of this series

Who would you make responsible of this enterprise?
Bones? Shaft? ...Etc Etc?
Depending on your answer, the fate of the anime will be carved on solid rock, so THINK CAREFULLY
