I have a feeling the Urahara, Yoruichi, Isshin, and possibly Ryuken are all tied together some how, maybe a connection with the Vizards perhaps? They didn't seem all too surprised or that upset when the vizards showed up.

But I can also easily counter any of those with a reason why he should be with Inoue..

Besides, I don't think Rukia was in love with Kaien.. Kaien was more like an elder brother.. and his wife was like an elder sister to Rukia..

So, that would actually reinforce the theory that Ichigo and Rukia just have a brother-sister relationship..

Also, neither have stated that they loved each other, as in lovers.. but Inoue has said that she loves Ichigo..
