Idk some manage to pull it off(like kyou kara ore wa, I didn't like the ending all that much but even tho itt was the same old fighting and random crap for near 400 chaps, its hard to get tired of it.... they could have made that 700+ chaps and it would have still worked thanks to lord mitsuhashi).... but not if its a more serious one like this xp..... this series seems to have a length that suits it best, if it had ended earlier there is no way all the questions could have been answered so well, and if it ended much later it would.... well it would probably just suck. Now if only all mangaka could not have a random undeserved and disruptive cancellation(mx0)/not try to extend the story in stupid ways constantly in order to make cash *cough*bleach*coughcough*
And as for the ending I'm going full optimist and risking extreme downer if one dies, but I hope both keis will survive. One living a peaceful life with tae(the normal chick incase I got this wrong), and the other joining some defense force thing with rurika or w/e the models name was.... that way the iconic hero could still lead, and we could also have the mushy sweet tae(sp?)xkei ending. Hope=maximum lvls >
