That was actually pretty interesting. Gave a good insight of how he also integrated the snake corpse into his body

That was the only part i liked really, and what happened to that blood of his, was mentioned few times pre shippuden, around the prelims in chuunin exam where he forfeited, was never mentioned again, something about old blood resurfacing.
- wasnt jump on hold because of golden week? Or was this an early release?

Yes, I think it was an early release, though before we usually got those like, on Monday or something from what I remember.
Anyway, yeah, I think this plot device is pretty logical. But again.... kinda pointless if Kabuto is just about to be killed by the Uchiha bros.

True. I've been wondering if Kabuto is meant to be the next major villain, after they finish with Tobi, or if he's meant to die here. With this chapter, the setup is there to make him into a major villain. That is, if Kishimoto wants to do a variation on DBZ's Cell with Kabuto slowly amassing DNA from all the important characters in the series. (The fact that the Uchiha bros. can't kill him means he could still escape in the end.) Then again, Kishimoto likes to do flashbacks right before the villain dies, so we'll see...
Whichever of Kishimoto's assistants draws the backgrounds for him really did a great job this chapter with Orochimaru's laboratory.
