Influential Manga

Basically, has manga influenced your thinking in any way? Like, has it gotten you to feel differently about a certain topic and carry yourself differently? Or do you read it just for entertainment.
Reading way too many shounens has got me to basically realize everything I have. The concept "protect someone/something precious to you" stuck a bit more than I want it to. I guess that I was a bit happier after I realized that.

the manga/anime that has stuck with me the most is Fullmetal Alchemist. It really has changed my perspective on the world.

Individually, none, however as a whole, and in combination with many other things - not the least of which being just getting older - they have. Really just about any stories or other type of food for thought would have sufficed, but manga and anime were free, convenient, in abundance and ideally located for the technophile I was at the time.

...hmm, my world outlook has probably shifted a little bit since reading things like Monster and 20th Century Boys (I tend to analyze the things people say now for motivations more), and Evangelion certainly made me think about the world a bit more, but my personality has more or less remained the same. Probably. I don't think anyone is really an excellent judge of their own character.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

It influenced me to be a hardcore slacker and to blow off all my school work (yet surprisingly I still have an A average.)

Urusawa Naoki's Monster and 20th Century Boys, Eternal Sabbath, and FMA made me question my ethics more on the value of a person's life. Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad influenced me to want to learn the guitar again after four years (the anime more than the manga, since I saw the anime first)

Battle Royale. It made me realise that I don't really give a sh*t about my friends.
Glados is a bitch. She made me kill the companion cube, the only friend I'll ever have. 😢

I've completely changed my life since watching/reading Trigun. I am a pacifist now, and I try my best to make things better for the people around me instead of worrying about myself.

Well off the top of my head....
Harima making a manga inspired me to keep drawing and doing art.
Don't ask me why.
I have a microchip implanted in my heart. So if I try to escape, robots will blow me apart.

Really? That is very interesting because reading shounen has made me realize every kind of super power imaginable I don't have... Oh well some people see the cup half full some half empty.

😔 What kind of friends do you have?... That can't be healthy.
Other than that Kazuo ruled in that manga. Overall the manga was very well done indeed. Can't believe they actually managed to make it even better than the movie was. Too bad Battle Royale: Blitz something has a different/crappy drawing style.

Battle Royale made me realize that I don't have as many friends as I thought I did. A lot of people call themselves my friends, but really they don't give a sht about me and I don't give a sht about them. I only have a couple that I know I can rely on in a situation like the one in Battle Royale.
