I bought the manga and since it's been a long time since the Eng publisher last released a volume, I wanted to check why. I see that the status here is "dropped". Anyone knows why, or any speculations?

2 possible reasons to drop it

1.the manga in question have horrible sales

2.the company overall is having money problems

my guess... nr.1

Neither. The series moved to a different magazine in Japan after the 6th volume - and more importantly, a new publisher - so Seven Seas lost the rights for volumes beyond the 6th. Low sales might be responsible for why they didn't bother getting a license from Shueisha or the latter's tendency only to license to Viz. Who knows. I highly doubt however that we'll see more volumes in English.
