It's out and it looks good, I was afraid the hiatus was gonna be longer or that the art would suffer.

God bless Oda's workaholic mind and may he live forever.

I don't quite want him to live forever cuz i'd die before reaching the end of One piece I just want him to last at least until he finish it in like 40 years from now... looking as how things are going that's likely when it will end...

Haha so true. It seems like its only half way done...and everyone knows the second half is always longer than the first half. And this will be by far the most successful long manga ever. Detective conan is longer but it doesn't have nearly the fame that one piece has anymore.

Anyways, about the actual chapter, is it possible that the dwarves and fairies are actually the same thing? Also, couldn't CC just take away the oxygen from those three and basically take his heart back? Too bad he has the intelliegence of Buggy and the stupidity of Mr. 4. If he utilized his full potential, he'd be so incredibly strong. But because he's like this, he gets used by Doflamingo. Also whats with everyone's natural fear of sea monsters? If they can each (somewhat easily) beat a fighting fish, why are they so scared...? Also bartolmew...i don't know who he is anymore...but if he can use his barriers to attack, he's pretty darn strong. Kinda reminds me of kekkaishi.

I think Oda will wrap up the story in the next 10-15yrs xP

@rexy: CC won by depleting SHs and marines of oxygen, because they didn't know he could do that. Now they do know, so it wouldn't be that simple.
Also an average person should be able to hold their breath for at least one minute. That's more than enough time for law to squeeze CC's heart, thus stopping his technique.
They're probably scared of the fighting fish because they can destroy the bridge, making them all fall into the sea. And only Usopp is not a Devil Fruit user. And he's afraid, because that's his main characteristic - he's a coward who bluffs. He's a lot stronger that he used to be, true, and he can pull through in a pinch, but he's still a scaredy-cat.
Yeah, Bartolomeo's ability reminds me of Kekkaishi too. But it's a Devil Fruit ability. It can be broken through with haki. Also Luffy should be immune to it. It doesn't cut, melt, burn, boil or freeze. All kinds of smashing are pointless against his rubber body.

@gradonil about CC, yes if you put it that way that's true. But if he truly controlled GAS, couldn't he just pull the oxygen out of the body and forcibly make someone faint or die? What I'm saying is that he isn't fully utilizing his powers the way he should be able to. Being able to control gas is an amazing and crazily cheap ability. But just like Kizaru, he doesn't know how to use it, or that the fruit really isn't as good as it sounds. For example, if kizaru really could kick at the speed of light, no one and i mean no one could be a match for him. and if CC could really control gas, he would just pull out oxygen from within his enemies bodies in a similar way crocodile pulls out water from a body. I understand where Usopp and CC is coming from but Robin and Law really shouldn't be remotely scared of something like that. And if the bridge is so easily broken, why has it been intact the whole time? Are humans maybe a 1/100 the size of the fish so satisfying to eat? Haki does do a darn lot to DF users. But can it actually break through a barrier? Im pretty sure the bari bari no mi is a paramecia, aka is active at all times. So if its truly unbreakable then wouldnt bartolmew be the strongest ever? Oh and whos to say that Bartolmew doesnt have haki? Also, is it weird that only bartolmew and bellamy had DF abilities...? At this point, anyone that can do anything kinda needs a DF. And it didn't seem like anyone could use Haki either. Which reminds me, Bellamy doesnt have hakiconfused

@rexy:
CC said he can manipulate air in a small area surrounding him. I think that if he wanted to manipulate 'gas' inside someone's body, he'd have to at least put his hand on that person. Similarly to Aokiji - he can make ice attacks, but if he wants to freeze something, he needs to touch it.
CC wouldn't be able to pull out oxygen from all of their bodies at once. And probably not within a second. I still think that Law would have enough time to squeeze his heart. If not, there's also his ability - he could make Room and 'teleport' somewhere else and then squeeze CC's heart.
Law clearly said he didn't want to use up his stamina before their meeting with Joker, otherwise the fish wouldn't be a problem. And neither he or Robin are panicking. It's all Usopp and Ceasar. The only time Law shouts is when he's suggesting they should outrun them, because if they take them head on, it'd take too much time.
I'm guessing the bridge wasn't broken, because it's not a living creature - it's not a challenge for the fish. And going with that reasoning, the fish aren't really interested in eating them, but in fighting them, thus their name.
Not sure if Bartolomeo's DF ability is a Paramecia type (if doesn't really connect to his body), but all DF abilities can be broken with haki, if the user is capable enough. And there's no such thing as an 'unbreakable' barrier. And even if there was, I think Luffy could always try to accumulate all of his Haoshoku haki on him to knock him out. Then the barrier would disappear. And even if Bartolomeo can use haki too, that wouldn't negate its use by Luffy. So what exactly would he do? Read movements or strengthen his body? He can't strengthen his barrier with it. And if he did, it'd become visible, making it easier to dodge. Also, he doesn't keep the barrier up all the time. Luffy can move extremely fast in Gear 2nd, he could surely take him by surprise.
And no, I don't think it's weird that there's not many ability users there - the prize of the competition is a Devil Fruit. An ability user, wouldn't need another Devil Fruit. There's nobody (that we know of) except for Blackbeard that can use two.

@gradonil
Yes, but can't he like send his arm (which is made of gas) into an enemy's body and basically poison/paralyze them? If he did that on law, would he be unable to move or something? Law is pretty cheap though...i know he can't use it much but he can teleportconfused How awesome/cheap is that?

Also his power...he technically takes out the heart....yet it's still functioning? How does that work? So the blood is pumped from the heart and transports to the veins and stuff? Which also begs the question about his switching bodies move...it's just too illogical. I mean i know this is a manga, but there has to be somewhat logic in abilities...

I think its a pretty big generalization if you say haki can affect all devil fruits. It can affect the devil fruit users, but not necessarily damage them. Arnaments hits logia bodies. Observation predicts moves and haoshoku haki is only from certain people and affects everyone regardless. But haoshoku is so rare that you cant really include it...so between arnaments and observation. We still dont exactly know how strong the barrier is and how it matches up against arnaments. And different people have different arnaments anyways...And arnaments can possibly hit and break the barrier. However, for bartolmew, he could just use arnamments on his barriers...its literally like putting armor on. So cant he just put the "armor" on his barriers? And who said barriers are invisible?

@rexy:
The only way he could send his arm into someone else's body is if that person breathed it in. And that's not gonna happen that easily. Plus, even if he managed to incapacitate Law, Robin could easily grab the heart with her ability.

How can a heart that's been cut out with a DF ability work? Simple, the exact same way Buggy can split his body, or the way any Logia works. I mean, you could easily say: "How can CC even live? He's made entirely out of gas."

Nope, it's not. Armaments can help you hit Logia user, but it's main ability is strengthening your body. It will not negate someone's ability effects, but the blows with it will be many times stronger.
And you're wrong about Haoshoku - it is rare, but Luffy is one of the people that can use it. And it's not true that it hits everyone - Rayleigh could direct it at will, and now, so can Luffy.

There's only one type of Armaments, but different people can only use it to a different degree (some better, some worse). Luffy spent two years training himself in the use of haki, having a monster like Rayleigh as a teacher. He should be really good at using it by now.

And true, we don't know much about the barrier ability yet. There's no way of knowing whether it can be strengthened with haki or not. We don't if Barto is able to use haki at all. With an ability like that, he wouldn't need to learn it.
Nobody 'said' the barriers are invisible, but we can see that from th story. The Firshman broke his hand on the barrier and nobody knew how that happened - they didn't see the barrier.

Anyway, like I said before - Barto doesn't keep his barrier up all the time. Bellamy managed to grab him right before the "King's Punch", which means Luffy could go Gear 2nd + Armaments haki and knock Barto out before he had the chance to put up the barrier.

Great chapter, but I still think Law is too strong, I mean he controls everything within his operating table and that means, say he goes up against Bartolemeo he can ignore his barrier and take his head or heart with a slice. Have they ever shown Haki blocking Law's attack?

So far, they haven't. And true, his ability seems too strong, but we've just learned that it uses up his stamina and there's always a limit to how much stamina can one have. Once he runs out of it, he should be easy to take care of.

Guys remember the laws of physics don't work in works of fiction biggrin. Authors can make whatever they see fit.

@despair666: Vergo. Vergo apparently has the best arnaments haki ever(though i highly doubt that) and law cut him even as he was using his haki. Apparently vergo and law said that when using haki, law couldnt do anything against vergo. So i have to assume that was true before.

@gradonil:
if you say that CC is made out of gas, when CC's cuffs were taken off, couldnt he just "turn his heart into gas"? You can control every part of your body when your a logia right? Just like Buggy's bara bara no mi can control all his body parts from virtually anywhere. Couldn't CC use his powers when his cuffs were off then and take his heart back by means of gas?

About haoshouku haki, what i meant to say was, it has the potential to hit everybody. Whether or not the user does that is a different story.

Agreed about the bari bari no mi part though. But at the same time, since he can move his barrier right? As shown when he beat the "king". So it might be possible to coat himself in a barrier?

I'm assuming that people cut with Law's ability lose the power to control their body parts as a whole.
Le's take Kin'emon as an example - even after assembling his head back together, he was split into three parts: head, legs and torso. From the way his 'parts' behaved, I'm guessing they acted independently. Otherwise there'd be no point in his torso attacking everyone around. It'd be easier for it to stay in one place and wait to be found instead of running off and falling into the ocean.
So I think that once a part of someone's body has been cut off by Law, that person (or their 'main' part) can't control the lost part until it'd been reattached.

If Barto 'coated' himself in a barrier, he wouldn't be able to move. It's not Kekkaishi. From what we've seen his barriers are 'solid'.
Yes he can move/extend the barrier, but how does that help him? Luffy is invulnerable to non-haki physical attacks (cutting and piercing being the exception).
