So what is that one (or more) manga where you just didn't see it coming... It might have happened in the first few chapters or at the very end, but whenever it did it made you reevaluate the story completely. Sometimes it made it better, sometimes it just makes you mad... what twist threw you so much that it still haunts you?

*Due to the nature of the topic, I strongly suggest a generous use of the spoiler tag.*

Example:
If you remove the space after the word "spoiler" then all of these words would be hidden
=

Just like this!

For me this excludes manga where the extreme have come to be standard, such as the horror genre. If your reading a story about zombies, don't be surprised when 98% of the starting cast gets eaten by zombies... In that case I guess a case where everyone survived would be a perfect example for this thread.

Here are mine:

This seams like a typical RPG style manga. Mysterious main character searches for teammates to defeat the demon lord. Except that you shouldn't get attached to those teammates, they won't be around for long. You see, he is only level one and fights high ranking monsters by killing his teammates and temporarily stealing their levels! He never can gain levels himself and if he doesn't do this then the monsters/demon lord will attack and just kill everyone. It a very dark take on the classic hero comes to defeat the great evil. All of this is learned within the first four chapters which have recently come out, so more should be coming.

This is by far one of the best twists I have every read. It made me go back and reevaluate the story. Trouble making student who is not well liked, even by his parents, is pulled back in time by a female spirit. In the past his parents are loving and supportive giving him the family that he wanted, but that is all destroyed when they are attacked and killed by the mongol army. The mongols are shown to be ruthless as they massacre the people and treat any survives harshly. He works towards becoming stronger so that he can seek revenge and find away back to his time. This story is competently scanlated.

I am adding the rest in a separate spoiler tag just in case the story sound interesting at this point and you want to read it. If there is any chance you want to read this then don't ruin it by looking at the end.

While fighting the general of the mongol army he regains enough of his memories of his past life to realize that he is fighting himself. He is the reincarnation of the mongol general who did all of these ruthless things. His life and treatment was terrible because of the negative karma. He was dragged into the past in order to be given a chance to redeem his soul by killing his past self. Think if a Nazi general was reborn and then had is soul dragged back in time to relive WWII has a Jew in a concentration camp where he had to kill his past self to right his wrongs. It is an incredible well done story.

Again, you go into this thinking it is a lighthearted romp into a fantasy adventure only to be blind sided by a darker truth. There is a lot of world building with this one so I am going to simplify it as best I can. A girl's soul is drawn into this fantasy world where she is trapped in a male warrior's body named Aren. The original soul is in there also so we get to meet Aren as they try to survive together and find basically a "magic lamp" that will separate them (its called something else in the story, but calling it a "magic lamp" gives you the basic idea). Up to this point everything is fine, then all of a sudden Aren older brother shows up and kills Aren(this is 16 chapters in). Turns out the older brother(named Aurthur) has killed and revived his brother in the past. Aurthur has had the "magic lamp" for a long time and has used it to gain immortality, but out of loneliness he created a younger version of himself to be his brother. When he sees that brother as being "broken" (because another's soul is in the body) he decides to get a new one. This is a very simplified synopsis of a very complicated world and character. I do not know what happens after that because there hasn't been any more releases.
