I'd like to subscribe to several manga magazines (mainly Hana to Yume to start with) and I can't find any up to date information on where to go, does anyone have any suggestions?
I live in the US, in the midwest, far far away from any actual Kinokuniya store, and they won't send magazines by mail.
I'm hoping for somewhere that:
- Ships to the US
- Ships fairly quickly after the magazine comes out
- Is completely legal
- And doesn't hugely inflate their prices/have major shipping costs (although I realize it won't be cheap)
Also bonus points if the seller's site is available in English - I can use google translate but it's not always the best.

You can try YesAsia to purchase the magazines. I don't know if they do subscriptions.
Have you tried contacting Kinokuniya via e-mail? They are usually more than willing to work with you. I know when I e-mail them about ordering a book they don't have on their site they always get it for me. I link them the amazon.jp site with the book I want. That way they can get the ISBN number and such. They were even able to tell us the cost and everything about a Haiku subscription my husband was thinking about getting that they didn't have.

YesAsia looks like they carry individual, recently released magazines, which is great and I will be ordering from them for now (thank you!) but it doesn't look like they do subscriptions (which I would still like to do for certain magazines, if possible.)
I didn't ask Kinokuniya, because their ordering FAQ specifically states "Magazines are currently only available at our retail stores. Please see Store Information for store details and locations" so I figure they get asked that too often already!

I'd still try emailing them. They probably don't want to add the magazines onto their site since there's soooo many of them and it will overtake the other releases they have.
Sadly the only other store that allowed you to actually subscribe was Sanseido. But they closed their American site two years ago.

Japan Centre does subscriptions for a lot of manga magazines (including Hana to Yume). They do either a 6-month or 12-month subscription. It's a UK based shop but they do ship non-food items internationally. I've bought Bestuma Margaret from them quite a few times. They were very good at keeping me informed of my order status and they tend to ship before the official release date of the magazine.
As well as YesAsia, you can also buy individual magazines from cdJapan. The magazines on cdJapan are usually cheaper than Japan Centre but they don't do subscriptions and delivery can take a long time.
It all really depends on how much you want to spend and how fast you want them delivered.
