Speaking from experience, the "love triangle/s" tag can be used in exceptionally misleading way. It can range anywhere from a minor side character having an unimportant slight crush on one of the leads, to a full-out "Oh no! Who will I choose!?" bloodbath.
I've noticed people who avoid this tag are quite often doing so because they do not enjoy overt themes of jealousy (and/or competition) being used to advance relationships, nor do they want to see the lead characters suffer trauma via unrequited love in a triangle situation.

For the purposes of improving the rate that which users are being delivered the precise content they want to see when they use the tag search, and preventing them from missing out on those manga with less unpleasant love triangles, I suggest we take some time to discuss further subcategories regarding the tag.

Shown above is a chart TVtropes uses to classify love triangles. Obviously some are more common than others. For the convenience of those not familiar, I'm thinking we should come up with some more descriptive names for some of these.

For example: If a manga contains a type 4, and stays a type 4 (the majority of manga with triangles seem to follow this trend) it could be tagged something like "fruitless love triangle/s" (and I know, we already have the "unrequited love stays unrequited" tag but that is far too broad to ever be of use)

Anyways, I'm not very creative with naming, so I'd like it if the lot of you could help discuss these in further depth, and ascertain if there is a urgent need for them.

Not bad, but the gender of the persons in the love triangle are important too.
I mean, I'm male. If I read a manga with a female and two stright guys, it could feel like NTR if I root for the wrong guy, but if the love triangle have two girls, then is more beareable if the manga is too long.
Or some times you want to skip mangas where a LGBT character hits on the mc or his/her love interest and the thing gets a little serious. Or the contrary, you look for a especific love triangle where the mc has doubts of his/her sexuality and his/her love interests are female and male.

Usually mmf love triangles appear in shoujo/josei, and ffm love triangles appear in shounen/seinen. So it's really a matter of target audience. Since readers always want to see people of the opposite gender fawning over the main character that they identify with. I totally understand what you're saying about NTR though. Like I can't read reverse harem because it's like 5 different NTR stories happening at once. Hell, some of those most popular shoujo manga is absolutely brutal to some male characters, and if the reader identifies with them it's particularly soul-crushing.

Back to the topic at hand, I think adding a ffm/mmf love triangle/s tag(s) would be appropriate, so I'm going to try to incorporate them from now on when I edit pages.
